Shoulder Of Mutton

If you have allergies please read on before dining here. Under previous ownership this pub was once great. Simple food but great. Unfortunately, we booked to visit the shoulder of mutton and were looking forward to our meal after the recent take over by The Brothers Supper. Sadly it was extremely disappointing. It was a cold evening and we walked in and joined the queued for our table which ended by the door. We were told that our table was the one right next to the door and in the window. It was very cold and we asked if we could shut the door as we were in a draft. Unfortunately, it was so cold we asked if we could move. We were told that they were very busy but we could sit in the corner...

Love this pub! Perfect spot for a dog walk, followed by lunch or a quick drink. The food here is always outstanding. Personal favourites are the fish and chips on a Friday and the Sunday roast. A traditional pub with a friendly landlord. No screens, no loud music, just good food and even better ales the best pint of Landlord you will have. Hotel highlights: Great value

Pretty good. We really enjoyed our midweek lunch with good quality classic pub dishes. One gripe would be the OTT pricing of those little mixer bottles, but that's an industry wide problem. Service: 4 Location: 4
