It took a lot of pounding the streets to find any restaurant in this area, tapas and cafe bars predominate the seafront. The hotel were not very helpful especially as their kitchen was closed, despite having a menu on prominent display. Sierra Morena is two streets back from the front and its outside appearance, when closed, belies a charming interior. This restaurant had atmosphere (despite we four being the only customers) good service and good food, the almond and garlic alioli with ciabbatta appetiser was a delight.
We walked inland from the port and stumbled on this restaurant. They offered a tapas and drink deal which you can choose a beer, wine or soft drink plus a tapa of your choice for 2.50 to 3 euro. We choose white wine (Rueda) and Mahou beer plus various tapas. They had the usual carne con tomate and pinchos de pollo plus other more unusual like queso fresco with and anchoas and almonds with cured tuna (Mojama de aton). We also had freshly prepared mini burgers. Well worth a visit to this traditional Spanish bar.

an excellent place to eat well or to put some tapas, the desserts are impressive but if you want to try you have to ask for them usually do not offer them
