This was our regular fish and chip/Chinese take away. In the last few months it has gone downhill. Food has got progressively poorer quality over the last few months. Now they have stopped cooking fish and only Chinese mass orders on Just eat hence, they concentrate more on Just eat orders than their regular customers. Person behind counter with hand down his pants, very young servers who cant get orders correct. Had to go back sever times during the last few months for correction of orders. Terrible!!!!! we order take away a lot from here and a few times they have missed items off our order, normally we do mind but on the last occasion we asked them to double check everything, again turn up item missing, we called and they apologised, we waiting 40 mins and still item didn't show, we called back and was told sorry you are too far away for us to come back (we are 3 miles away), even though we had paid for the item as part of our meal and paid for delivery, we complained and said no sorry we want what we have paid for and again they said sorry and would deliver it and no one did!!! worst service ever
Awful service!! 1st delivery turned up after 1hour 45 mins for the wrong address. Both people were told to package it back and the driver will swap it. They said they would re-cook after we complained it would be cold. 1 hour later they delivered again just to find out it was the wrong food! We spoke to the guy on the desk and he laughed down the phone that my wife was allergic to the food delivered and that they made the mistake again. Waiting for a manager to call me but don't think it's going to happen...... Grim service for us but sounds like it's been happening all night
Quite possibly the worst meal we've had from any Chinese take away. Everything was warm/on the verge of cold. Duck Terribly dry, box was filled mostly with the bones. Hoi sin sauce SALT OVERLOAD! Rice Hard, where was the egg?! Chow mein Greasy. Prawns in yellow bean Dry and cooked to a crisp! S&S Chicken Cantonese neither sweet nor sour, disappointing. Chips They were BROWN!!!!!! Fresh?! ...I think not. So much was left, both in agreement that the majority was inedible. In the bin already. Ill stick to Hong Kong Chef from now on...

I love food from the Silver Bowl and they are only 2 miles up the road from us. We usually spend around £50 with them and am disappointed to see they charge a delivery fee of £1.50 and service charge of 50p. I know it isn't alot but usually if you spend over a certain amount which is usually about £15 you get free delivery within a certain radius! I hope you will see this review Silver Bowl as we order regularly from you and will go elsewhere next time if you cannot rectify this.
As a family who live 5 minutes away, this is our local Chinese takeaway. We order from here fairly regularly, usually as a treat for exams or birthdays, etc. We have never been let down by the Silver Bowl and have always enjoyed our food. It's well worth the money and is absolutely delicious, we never order from anywhere else. Thank you, Silver Bowl!
Given the price is not much different to other Chinese takeaways in the area this was very disappointing! Every meat dish the meat was dry and flavourless. The lemon chicken had a bitter after taste and the spring onion and cucmber accompaniament to the dry crispy duck was as dry as old nick! Will not be ordering from here again, ever!
Had a few meals from here last year were fine. Had takeaway tonight and it was disgusting I ate half the chow mien and threw the rest away. Chips had seemed they were re-cooked very dry and brown chicken was borderline under cooked and poor quality. Won’t be going back sorry.

Have had a takeaway a few times and always enjoyed it. I have ordered in the shop and waited a fair while so I know its all freshly made, and could hear things sizzling out the back. Very helpful guy serving too.
Visited whilst taking part in the nearby Braintree Hockey Club 7s tournament and beer festival (which is highly recommended) and the food was of a good standard.
