my family and I decided to try out sistos pub due to the good reviewsupon entry the waitress stated we could seat ourselvessince we where not there for drinks just lunch we decided to sit at the meal tablesyou had to go around a counter to get to the tables and since the pub is dark I could not see that there was a step up to the table. resulting in me tripping and landing on my right knee very hard. I landed so hard a sharp pain shot up my back and into my head. my daughter had to help me up because I could not put any weight on my knee. A great small town atmosphere, if you're a local chances are you'll be having a drink with someone you know in there even if you didn't show up together. If you're not from Mission, chances are you'll make a new friend and enjoy a very friendly staff, and great pub food! (the Pizza has a great reputation) The pub itself has a very old feel inside, and it plays to the character of the hidden watering hole that it has come to be. Residents of Mission and nearby cities have enjoyed this neighbourhood pub for years.You need to have a GPS or good directions to find it, it is not on a busy street; a good landmark for anyone to find it, is the corner grocery store nearby with its large lotto sign, Sisto's is on Vosburgh a few meters away. It has a good size parking lot, very convenient. The interior finishings are good quality with a lot of wood work. We were passing through Mission around lunch time and saw the signs for Sisto's Pub. It is a little out of the way; not a place you accidentally stumble upon. But, we had the address and found it. It is on a residential street, between some houses and a small corner store. The pub seems to be in two sections, one a regular bar area with tables, and another section with a pool table and a few seats. We ordered our food, and it came quickly. The stuffed potato skins were very good, lots of filling, plenty of cheese and ham in the stuffing. Okay, so we were heading out to Mission Springs Pub but it was closed for renos. Asked the best pub for grub and we were told Sistos by the liquor store manager. Okay. So we got lost (misdirected more like) but finally found our way. Food was brilliant. Beer was cold. Service was very good. NO. It was excellent. Our visitor over paid and the server Briana recognized the error and told our visitor. WOW! Really? Yup. We would never have known of the mistake. Thanks to Briana for making the trip worthwhile. Oh and by the way ... shield yer eyes as you walk in if you are easily offended, as there is a rude life-size wooden carving that, well ... 'nuff said.
I went there had a good time, my friend made a comment guess which the guy was supposed to be offended by, But wasn't even offended. The server came over and was exteremly rude to me for no reason(of my being) which the guy said was ok. It was garbage service. I'm not dealing with servers that's are going to be so outragesly rude to customers. Pathetic bar. I would give it no stars if I could.
It's a little hard to find if you are new to the area but worth the stop. Service was very good and the portions are good also. We had the dry garlic ribs, deep fried pickles, jalapeño poppers, and onion spoons. The latter was the weakest of the dishes but everything was very good overall. Good selection of beers and other drinks and lots of TVs to give everyone a chance to see sport programs.
