I spent a night near Newent on my way back to London, and because I was very tired, wanted to order some food to my room instead of going out. The motel I stayed did not have restaurant on site, and though they had some leaflets from other takeaways but not from Chinese which I wished to taste. Luckily one neighbour found an old menu for me, and I gave them a call to place an order. Unfortunately they count £2 or £3 for delivery, which I had to accept if wanted to eat for my taste that day. Ordered a takeaway tonight and on top of the rice being cold we couldn’t work out what the rotten smell in out kitchen was, turned out to be the pineapple in the duck dish, which was not edible. The duck in both of our dishes tasted as if it was in the turn and the prawn crackers where stale. I was just going to throw the food away, but decided to ring and let them know, the woman who answered the phone didn’t seem to want to understand me, her understanding of english had been fine when I placed and collected the order, so instead said I would return it to them as I now wanted a refund. I ordered from this restaurant last night. The food was extremely salty with MSG and most of it was inedible. The chicken was sliced in square pieces, which was quite unexpected. The spring rolls seemed more like a bean shoot burrito with an excessive amount of fat. Ultimately, all of the food ended up in the trash and even my dog wasn't interested. At £26 for 2 main dishes, chips, and 2 spring rolls, it was one of the priciest Chinese takeout meals I've had. I would recommend avoiding this place and trying somewhere else. I'm happy to say that we won't be returning.
Looks a great little place on the surface , on both occasions I've eaten from here , I've decided on the Sate ! On the menu it says hot and spicy , which I confirm is not the case , portion size is great , loads of vegetables , the beef in this case was poor , it was chewy and fatty ! The sauce which being sate, is meant to be peanut based with a kick, couldn't be far from the reality, it was no more than beef Gravy , it's rather disappointing, therefore I urge the management to review their dish , I hope the other menu contents aren't as misleading !! I've never been one to keen on asian cuisine but after taking a few bites of food from this takeaway, I instantly became addicted. The seasoning, fresh and flavorful food truly makes this takeaway stand out from all the others. The staff were very bubbly as well and were able to get a few jokes from me (regardless of being very busy. Great and well rounded food. Will definitely eat again.
The food at this restaurant looked great and it would have been a fantastic takeaway, but it was completely inedible because of the excessive amount of salt used. Unfortunately, we couldn't call them to address the issue because of the lack of signal where we are staying. It's a shame because the Google reviews were positive.
Dropped in to see friends in Newent and decided to stay for supper. Ordered food for 10 people which was ready in 40 minutes (it was a Friday night after all! . Nearly all choose and share dishes, which all agreed was very nice. Thank you. Réservez une table maintenant
