We were looking for somewhere to have a quick light lunch, perhaps a platter to share or similar. Stopped at Skillogallee because it had great reviews in the local brochures. We were lucky to get a table as it was pretty busy. When the menu arrived, we immediately noticed that along the bottom was written the following(or similar): "on weekends and public holidays, guests must order at least two courses"! As this was a Saturday, apparently this rule applies. No-one had mentioned this as we were being led to our table, because if they had, we would have walked out.Very bad form .... there are other ways to get people to spend money there on weekends, ie a special weekend/ public holiday menu...

We had a wonderful mid week lunch out on the enclosed verandah at Skillogalee despite it being a rainy and cold day. We've visited before but not eaten and took advantage of the discount offered using the Entertainment Book. My ocean trout was served on an unusual but delicious kohlrabi and pear salad and was a delight to eat. I'll be looking for the salad recipe soon. Hubby had the duck beast which was equally as good as were the sides of brussels and oven roasted kipflers.Sampling the wines before you buy is just fun, fun fun and overall we had a lovely afternoon.Visit the nearby small wineries for more personalised and friendly service which this area seems to be so good at. We recommend...

We stayed as a family in Wren Cottage earlier in July.Started off with a great relaxed lunch, yes we were on the enclosed verandah but it was fine. Food was great and the wine tasting was amazing - Yes, the bottle of Muscat is now safely back in Muscat, Oman. The cottage was cosy and comfortable and we had a great roaring fire to sit around. I stupidly forgot my glasses and the staff kindly sent them on to me so I could meet up with them in Terrigal later in my tour. Thank so much for arranging that. The initial intro was via Clare Valley tourist board so kudos to them for understanding our needs perfectly.

We were looking for a Sunday lunch in the Clare and their are not too many options, but we had heard Skillogalee had a reasonable restaurant. We didn't have a reservation on a busy Sunday lunch but we're offered a lovely table under the olive tree at the back. See a photo above. That was our table. About 30 minutes after we were seated, we noticed the restaurant was packed.Great ambience, service very friendly and efficient and food very tasty. Wines very good as wellIn winter, on the verandah, in summer definitely under the olive tree out the back Réservez une table maintenant

What lovely and picturesque setting. Service is also absolutely lovely, very friendly and welcoming. We ordered our food and then tried a few vinos at the front. However, food-wise, we expected more. It was nice, but not amazing. I tried the ocean trout for main, and while it had fresh flavours, it was overwhelmingly creamy and left me hungry. My partner's chicken lacked sauce. The highlight was a gorgeous mushroom soup that I had for entree. All in all, it was nice but unfortunately not much more.

When you first walk in to the tiny wonky house that still has all its charm, you enter through the kitchen which is their wine tasting area. Very cute.Open fire place, small tables and a larger room plus a veranda that stretches across the back with a gorgeous view. We were there for tastings and a late afternoon platter. Food and service was wonderful. Definitely worth a visit.

We have been to Skillogalee twice and both times had the same experience. The service is slow and the food is nice but not amazing. Despite it being a cold day we were seated out on the veranda (inside was empty). They do have good gluten free options and there is a coupon with the entertainment book.

Four of us came for lunch. Tried some wine in the tiny entrance area but it got too squashy so we went to our table. Food was nice but nothing to really rave about. Dessert was lovely. Affogato was delicious. Réservez une table maintenant

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at this vineyard. Ate very good duck accompanied by a good glass of red and then ate a yummy muscat bruleefor dessert. Seated on a decking out the back that was extremely attractive.
