Two families' first time in a while for yum cha: I'd been here recently as part of a supplier lunch, so recommended it to them. Got there at noon on a Saturday and there was no line up for a table, so that was great.Service was efficient and there were our usual favourites, with the notable exception of the egg tarts: we might have seen that trolley once early on in the meal, but it had well & truly disappeared towards the end: despite asking various waiters and their promises of assistances, we never did see any, got tired of waiting, and left without them.Although we took the right turn off, we made the mistake of not continuing on into the shopping centre's car park, and couldn't get back...

This is one of Sydney's worst yum cha. Keep in mind when it first opened it was possibly one best one around, leveraging on the excellence of Sky Phoenix in town. The key problem of this place is the quality of the prawns they use in their dumpling. After the spotted prawn outbreak they started using smaller cheaper imported prawn of terrible quality. Those are cheaper and taste horrible. The outbreak of this prawn disease is truely over but they have kept using these prawns to boost profits. To make matters worst the dumpling are totally overcooked and even my dog won't eat the shu mai I take home for him. I am not exaggerating and it makes me sad when good outlets go bad.
Food: no standouts. Classic Canto yum cha. Atmosphere: classic 80s ballroom with decor done modern. Big tables that can hold 10 surround the room which holds many smaller tables to cater for smaller groups.Service: exactly as you would expect from a yum cha at Sunday brunch. If you are not used to it, you will be upset. If you are, then whatevs: you didn't come for service anywho.Location: the nearest competitor will be downtown, otherwise Souths Juniors. I wouldn't choose one of these over the others, ie. if you want yum cha in this area, that will be just fine. If you are downtown or nearer Souths, eat local.Damage: $1000 for 30 people.Tip: be good to your mum.
On our first visit to this restaurant, after waiting 40 mins for our entrees and yet to receive, we raised this with a waiter, who then investigated to be advised that our order was lost in the system and we were forgotten about. Our order was taken again, but no apology was given for their error. Food portions are large, however quality is not great for the price you pay. Service from staff was very poor. We were going to have a meal here, but the experience was so bad we left after ordering just the soup. Bland food, tiny portion, and overpriced. Complete lack of interest, attention or care from the staff. Big barn of a place with no atmosphere, but lighting that's placed so that it shines in your eyes and blinds you at most tables. Save your time and money, and go somewhere - anywhere - else.
We visited for Yum Cha on Sunday morning. The trolleys came past thick and fast and we ordered in a similar fashion. All the food was excellent quality and the waitstaff were jovial and friendly encouraging us to try new things (taro bird nest thingy - yum!). Very busy and with staff who knew how to handle it. Great experience.
This is a popular dim sum restaurant in Sydney, remember to make reservation for visit. Most of the dim sum items are good except for the chicken feet, it's a bit hard when it should be soft. The mango pudding and roll is nice and also the bean curd. The prawn dumpling, siu mai and pork bun are all good enough.
Generally a very acceptable and clean atmosphere - the food is of fair to good quality - staff generally happy to serve and push cart for sale - unfortunately did not have chance to eat the egg tarts - as they were not ready Generally I would say they are pricey but I guess what you pay is what you get Réservez une table maintenant
Really nice food, very quick service and generous portions but expensive - I'm happy to pay that bit extra as it is by far the best Chinese in Kensington and Moore Park. Busy most days, a little noisy when full but highly recommended.

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
