Its been a long time since I last visited this particular cafe and from memory it wasn't too bad back then. Well things have changed considerably since my last visit, everything in the chiller cabinet looks so very tired with me thinking "how long has this stock been here". The cakes appear to be brought in (no problem with that) but they look so very unappealing. The deli produce would never tempt me to take it home. While visiting Sydney recently, I visited the Gladesville Shopping Centre and had morning tea at Slices Deli Cafe. The cakes and slices are amazing. I am a sweets connoisseur and have never tasted better than these. I tried them all during my two weeks stay in the area and can especially recommend the Carrot Cake, the Lemon and Sour Cream Cake and the Baked Ricotta Cheesecake. These are all made on the premises by the owners. There is also an extensive blackboard breakfast and lunch menu displayed which changes regularly. Called in for breakfast as we having our car serviced near by. The two coffees ordered one was passable the other very ordinary. Then we ordered big breakfasts which came looking very ordinary with the toast cold and the rest of the meal also ordinary. All in all what a mistake with the cafe. Then I spotted the cafe having some kind of water leak issue as there tea towels on the floor with staff wiping up the water then making coffee with no visible signs of any hand washing. Haa
Ordered a coffee and nothing spectacular, however the size of a regular is very generous which is a plus. Also ordered a cupcake and I asked the girl what flavour it was. She told me coconut however upon biting into it, it is distinctly banana. I don't think I'll be returning which is a shame as this place used to be quite good!

I come here often, walk inside to a free newspaper, perfect coffee and delicious bacon and egg roll for $10.50!!. Fast service, relaxed atmosphere and high quality food on the menu. The deli items available are good however some staff do not possess the knowledge of their products, which is slightly disappointing.
Visited after many months both food quality & service dipped!Previous owners were hands on & used to stress on the quality of food and service, which should be eye opener for new ones!Will return to see the improvements as many new places have come up it is fierce competition out there.
Slices, tucked away in a corner of Gladesville shopping centre had really good coffee and great café-style food. They have an excellent deli counter with fine products, including cheeses and meats. My fussy daughter loves the Caesar Salad!
Great value egg and bacon roll with coffee $8.00 plus other hearty meals at a good price, good and friendly service always a delight

Highly recommend this cafe as a local resident. You might as well come across in the suburb Cate Blanchett as she lives nearby.
Stopped in for lunch with a friend. Order at the counter but food delivery to the table is fast and food is fresh and nice.
