Smiffy's Chip Shop

Asked for plenty of vinegar on a fish and chips, got back to our accommodation and there was no vinegar, it was as dry as a bone. Also asked for a curry sauce which we paid for and was missing. Lad behind counter seemed disinterested...to be there, not really surprised the order was wrong, should have checked but it was a small order so you would presume he would get it right.

Not many places to eat, being in Scotland my husband was looking forward to haggis and chips omg we went back three times while staying in the area and ate them in the park almost opposite there, I had haddock and chips (no cod ..was not disappointed not a lot of difference in the fish, set up was good, and also once went back for icecream yum yum .

We found Smiffy's and roaming the high street for somewhere to eat that was reasonable and where we could be served quickly. The staff were friendly and served us quickly with a smile. The timers were a great idea as when the buzzer went off...with sounds and lights you knew it was time to eat. The fish and chips was hot and delicious!

I went here today for chips and cheese also ordered a slush . On the board it says large chips and cheese and the slush was but on the receipt the women had charged me another for cheese. I asked about it...she said the boards wrong . I got my money back but she obviously knew weren’t from avimore. Just go to the happy haggis Réservez une table maintenant

Excellent Fish n chips! At first the man on the counter seemed quite abrupt but he warmed up a bit in the end. The place is lovely, toilets excellent and clean and the food… well… really good! Curry sauce … what is their recipe?? It...was the best curry sauce we’ve ever had!! Fish was beautifully cooked.

Chips ok , large is nearer a small here compared to many other chippys we’ve been to locally. Extortionate prices , but always have been with this chippy chain Smithies. Worth going to Grantown on spey to spey side fish and chips , excellent food...and great prices. Also the foods HOT !!!

family members came here today for a lunchtime meal. The fish was the BEST I have ever tasted, thin crispy batter and delicious tasting Haddock. Thank you very much. Service and cleanliness were star too

After reading the reviews I really wished i checked my receipt I was near enough for meals!!!! this is ridiculously expensive and really cannot recommend this place to anyone. try somewhere else. Réservez une table maintenant

Some fish and chips are above others being from Rye im used to a very high standard of fish and chips, aviemore was good but they could do better by buying in a better standard of fish

The food here is great, but the staff here are second to none absolutely brilliant. There are a lot of chippy in the area but i found this one to be a better choice.
