The WORST, waited 45 minutes after ordering, no coffee refill while waiting for food… we ended up leaving. The staff just ignored us, there were two of them putting cutlery into napkins while the whole place filled up with customers, people would sit down, given menus and then ignored, we watched 3 tables just give up and leave when no one came to take their order. No one was eating everyone just sitting there confused… it’s a restaurant right? Don’t bother, go to bagel cafe downtown
The restaurant was quite crowded, as expected on a Sunday morning. I ordered the chicken quesadilla for the first time and was quite disappointed to find that the chicken was completely unseasoned. I had to rely on ranch dressing and Frank's hot sauce to add some flavor, but it still fell short. On the positive side, everything was served hot despite the busy atmosphere.
I ordered the Newfoundland Eggs Benedict, which were meant to feature a poached egg. Instead, they were baked in a muffin tin, resulting in tough and rubbery eggs. The fish cake was of the frozen kind and mine was ice cold in the center. The hashbrowns were of the same poor quality. While the service was acceptable, the food was quite disappointing.
It was very busy when we arrived but the waitress took our order soon after we were seated. There was a bit of a wait for the food but it was all very tasty and fresh. Our waitress was very friendly and was well deserving of a nice tip. We all had breakfast and we all enjoyed our meal. We will be back again in the future. I recommend this location. Smitty's is a nice diner offering a solid menu with a variety of options. The service is attentive, the food is served hot, and the portion sizes are just right. It's an excellent spot for family dining, with a menu that caters to a wide range of tastes.
This charming family restaurant offers excellent prices and delicious food. I had the strip loin steak, and it was absolutely delightful. The service was impressive, and my meal arrived promptly.
Generally not a bad place but in Newfoundland liver and Onions come with gravy. This place has an up-charge of $2.50 extra if you want gravy. You just lost my business.
