I've eaten here several times and I've sampled lots of items from the menu, and I can say every meal has been awesome. The cornbread appetizer hits the spot. It has a crumb topping that is just sweet enough without being too sweet. The pot pie is quality comfort food and big enough for 2 people to share. The dining room isn't huge but there are a few tables out front on Lake Avenue and a few more tables in a small bamboo-ensconced courtyard patio behind the restaurant. And there's a fireplace in the courtyard. You'll see people walking in and out of the rear entrance, but the courtyard is a great setting for a meal.
I’ve said it all before and I’m happy to report that it never changes as to the over all experience. Back patio lovely and secluded, only one other table occupied, fireplace warming the chill of the evening. Great drinks, food, and service starting and ending with Carlos at the back entrance taking my car. An out of town first timer loved it as much as I have for many years.
Smitty's is a great for comfort food. The ambiance is cozy and the food tasty. They have a seasoned bartender that makes a mean Rusty Nail. I'm looking forward to my next visit already. The wait staff is also friendly and professional.
Dined here many times. Food has always been excellent, and the ambience, fabulous. Everyone I recommended this to, thanked me for sharing this hidden gem and they plan to go back. It is on the pricier end but well worth it!

Always a reliable choice in old-school Pasadena. The cocktails are excellent, and the fresh potato chips are a delightful treat. I really love the chicken piccata!
