We have been to Smittys in Mt. Pearl a couple of times and both times the food left a lot to be desired. Last week we had dinner there. We had the fish and chips. The fish was fresh maybe last year. The coating was soaked in grease and fries were cooked a few times by the looks of it. For dessert we both had the apple pie and ice cream. It would have been nice if the pie was thawed out. It was partially frozen. Needless to say we will not be returning. The service was good but that only takes u so far. The owner needs to make a change in the kitchen.
I went there with a group of people and we had a room to ourselves. I have to say that the waitresses were very friendly and served us well. The food was cold by the time it got to us. I had the hot roast beef sandwich. The roast beef was" stringy" and seemed like it was cut from a flank but should have been cut across the grain to make it more tender for us to eat.The portions were generous. The deserts were apple pie which was lovely and Blueberry crumble which showed the blueberries as dried up and not juicy at all.
My friend and I went to this location to have the express lunch. Happy to say that it did come out under 15 minutesShe ordered the half skillet and it was hugeI ordered the bacon cheese burger and it was pretty good.Overall the food was ok nothing stellar and nothing bad.Service was friendly how ever they did put both meals on one bill putting me in the situation of having to pay for us both.
food taste and looks like it come out of a box or can, is over cooked or under cooked, half meal cold other half too hot (like it was done in microwave) the staff know it because as soon as you say something they willingly return it and discount your bill.

I visited here for the first time last weekend for breakfast. We missed the early bird special (order before 10 am). There are quite a few choices, with most items ranging from 8-15 dollars. Portions are large, the service was good. Food was average.
A visit to Smitty's means a comfortable atmosphere with good tasty meals . Friendly severs and reasonable prices .. A winning combination when you just want to relax and enjoy the regular every day type of good home cooking .
We had our retiree Christmas lunch at this restaurant and it was a wonderful time. The food and service was great. There was plenty of parking.
We enjoy Smitty's for a good, relaxed meal. Used to be pretty well regulars but haven't been there as much lately.
