Went in for lunch. Girl was quick to take order, however,that was where the quickness ended. Long wait for my large latte to arrive, sipped on this slowly until finished and still no sign of any food.Eventually food arrived with apology for delay. Wish I...could say the wait was worth it. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry when i looked at the plate.This was the smallest baked potato with the smallest of fillings I have EVER been served, could have picked it up with one hand and finished it in 3 bites. Love this place, such a friendly atmosphere and the food is delish. I have been a customer for many years and always make a point of visiting when in Linlithgow Took friends recently, after a walk round the loch we popped in. Service was prompt...and the scones were to die for. They also serve a range of lovely home baked treats served by friendly staff. Been refurbished recently, tastefully done. Pet friendly which is great though I think there may be a limit on the number of dogs in which is fair enough. Would recommend.
Staying in South Queensferry we came here for a few hours and after walking around the Loch we needed some lunch. There are lots of cafés in Linlithgow but as this one was in the square and we could sit outside we chose this. My...husband had a bacon and avocado bagel and a cup of tea and I had some carrot cake and an Americano. The bacon was very average, the quantity of tea was small, the carrot cake seemed to be missing the carrots and the Americano had a lot of sludge in the bottom of the cup.
We collected two Mother’s Day afternoon teas today and they were delicious. A lovely piece of quiche, a sausage roll I heated both in the oven for 5 mins. 4 lovely sandwiches, a scone with jam and cream, a meringue, a piece of caramel...shortcake, a mini cake, an empire biscuit and a huge strawberry. All beautifully wrapped with Mother’s Day ribbon and two little candles in the gift bag. A real treat. Couldn’t fault it at all. Really fabulous Réservez une table maintenant
this caffe is in the best situation and so, perhaps predictable, it has subduing food that is overpriced, with some charming coworkers and some who would rather be somewhere different and who think clearly that they do a favor by spending money. there is nizza enough for a fast coffee and cake though.
