I love going to Auburn for authentic ethnic food, and it is definitely my go-to for Turkish (rather than the Asian closer to the station). Our favourite kebab house appears to have burned down in the last year, so we were lucky to chance on Sofra which also appears to have no small amount of competition in the vicinity.....We have been very happy on both our visits with a generous chicken kebab plate which we share between two with a small tabouli on the side. Salads are all varied and fresh, the plate comes with both rice and bread, and we also enjoy the cucumber yoghurt on the side. Service has always been friendly. OMG! This cafe is amazing. The food is so delicious, authentic, tasty, abundant...I just can't say enough. We had grilled chicken skewers, plate of mixed salads and mixed dips. The food is so fresh and the aroma from the grill seems to stimulate your appetite. You must come to is cafe hungry as there is just so much to try. The setting is a no frills cafe style with some seating on the street. Just an amazing place to visit for the most outstanding food. Whilst we were there a food tour visited stopping to taste the grilled meats....they seemed sad to have to leave! Enjoy!
We have been visiting SOFRA Restaurant for many years but we had a lapse for a couple of years , this month we returned with family visiting from overseas to showthem true Turkish cuisine. We were not disappointed . The ADANA kebabs weremouthwatering , we also ordered a traditional pizza .This place has all the atmosphere and vibe of true Turkish eatery and interesting towatch the passing parade. Good tucker.
If you find yourself in Auburn and craving some delicious chicken or lamb shish, be sure to check out Sofra. The food at this restaurant is amazing! Although there are only a few tables available for dining in, it feels more like a quick take-out spot. Don't let that deceive you, though. The food here is top-notch and just as flavorful as any upscale sit-down restaurant.

I just discovered Sofra today and decided to stop in for lunch while I was in the area for work. The portions were generous and the food was cooked right in front of me. The authentic dishes were served with great service. It's a casual dining spot in a busy area of Auburn. The serving sizes were also impressive. I plan to try the pizza on my next visit.
The restaurant offers freshly grilled meat with Middle Eastern spices that are cooked right in front of you. The bread is a highlight, being fluffy, soft, and just chewy enough. I find myself returning regularly because I can't get enough of it. However, I wish they had a good garlic sauce available, as it seems strange that they don't have one.
Been going since I was a kid - original owners are back and as great as I remembered from 15 years ago! Epic mixed turkish plate with salads are traditional and full of flavour, the Traditional turkish bread is fresh and presented well.Family favourite and will be going back everytime I return to Sydney!
We have tried many other restaurants that offer Adana kebabs but always come back to this one. It was one of the first of its kind in Auburn and the best. The food is really fresh and well prepared and always consistent. Busy vibrant atmosphere for all to enjoy. Well worth a visit.

The location is convenient and the service is good. For the same value of money you can get a beter quality Turkish food from nearby Turkish restaurants.
Enjoyed beautiful dips with fresh bread, tasty shish kebabs and salad. Ayran is served by the jug! Will definitely return.
