Soichi is not our first Omakase experience, but it is the first one in San Diego that we have had. And what an amazing experience it was!Getting a reservation is key, especially if you want the bar. Our server was Marlon, and we told him we had just moved to SD and were celebrating our engagement anniversary. He was SO friendly and a willing conversationalist; we talked about everything from Ratatouille to the skeletal systems of the fish he was preparing. Not only that but Soichi himself also conversed with us and served us a little bit of sake. What a personality! Great presence, but humble and easy to talk to. The staff was amazing at welcoming us, taking care of us, and making sure we we...

This was our second visit to Soichi Sushi, but the first Sushi bar experience. Street parking is hit or miss, but the neighborhood is safe, so parking shouldn't be an issue. Reservations are tough to get online, but once you visit for your first time, the staff is more than willing to schedule future reservations for you. Our party ordered a variety of menu offerings as I went with the full Omakase course. First thing I would say is dining at Soichi is an experience, so expect to have a hefty bill. Every dish that came out seemed better than the last. My two favorites are definitely the fatty tuna as well as the Miso glazed sea bass. Interacting with the Chefs is also part of the overall exp...

From the beginning to the end, the experience was incredible. The 4-part appetizer starter was perfect for easing any hunger pangs. Each dish, influenced by Japanese cuisine, was elevated, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The highlight was watching Chef Rio create the nigiri right in front of us, explaining each piece and making the experience personal and engaging. Chef Soichi, alongside Chef Rio, was welcoming and entertaining, even singing and playing guitar for another table celebrating a birthday. The service was prompt and attentive, creating a cozy atmosphere that felt more like a local spot than a fancy restaurant. The quality of the sushi surpassed any I have had before, and the s...

I absolutely loved this restaurant! The staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We had two petite omakase dishes and also ordered some extra nigiris. The toro nigiri was exceptional, my personal favorite. For dessert, we tried the matcha ice cream and sesame ice cream, both of which were fantastic. We also enjoyed a glass of plum wine. Although the restaurant is small, it has a great atmosphere. I am eagerly looking forward to going back and trying the full omakase experience. Réservez une table maintenant

Came here for our anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing but the service was really what made the experience. Rachel made us feel like we were part of the family. We went for the full Omakase experience. Started with sake flights and ended up moving to bottles after. We originally sat at a table inside, than they offered us a spot at the bar when it opened and that really elevated the experience. Can not wait to come back again and do it all over.

Reservation are so hard to get. Finally got in and and my husband and I were happy with our food, service and loved the out door patio. It's very intimate, perfect for date night. We of course ordered Soichi Omakase and loved it. We were stuffed by the end of it. My favorite was the stating of the sake, before we ordered a full bottle. Picture are only if a few of the dishes included in the Soichi Omakase

My husband and I have been coming here for many of our special occasion dinners birthdays, anniversaries since Soichi first opened. It's been much harder to get a reservation here ever since they were awarded a Michelin star, but we are so happy for them to receive the recognition they deserve. Their fish is always of the highest quality and artfully presented. Our favorite omakase spot in San Diego.

Amazing experience. Definitely get the omakase, worth the price. Reservations are tough to get, and deservedly so. Every dish was flawless and perfectly fresh, and the drink list was very extensive. It's great that they will let you sample sake before ordering, too. Réservez une table maintenant

I had an incredible experience at this sushi restaurant. It is definitely the best in North America. The customer service was outstanding, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the San Diego area.
