came after work on a grey Friday. We were the only ones at the restaurant when we started. It's on Davis drive. Right where all the construction is. It's hard to get to, I came from the west and had to do a u turn to get to the driveway.<br/ <br/ We had been there before and had gotten the omakase then and based on how great it was decided to get it again.<br/ <br/ It's pricy at $65. I was fortunate to be introduced to Solo Sushi Ya many years ago by a friend in the culinary industry, and after nearly a decade of dining at Jyo and the ever-changing team at Solo, it remains one of the top spots for delicious sushi and more. Whether you opt for traditional options found at most places or the unique new items recently added to the menu, such as smoked mackerel and pork belly, you won't be disappointed. While the omakase may not be as extravagant as other restaurants in the city (like Akasaka), it is still one of the freshest and most reasonably priced meals you can find. Indecisive eater? No problem!. I am an adventurous, open-minded, food allergy-free eater. I often find myself with a bit of a dilemma when dining out; and that is that everything on the menu piques my interest, so making a decision can be difficult sometimes. The omakase is great because someone else (specifically, the chef) chooses for me. It's a nice departure, on top of the food being very fresh and delicious. The place is clean and intimate, with the focus being on the quality, preparation and presentation of the food. I fell in love with saba (mackerel) sashimi at this place because it was so fresh.
I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant with my husband and it was a treat! We opted for the Omakase Experience and it was amazing. The menu had some unique items that were absolutely delicious. The chefs clearly take pride in their work, as the presentation and taste were top-notch. The cozy and inviting interior only added to the experience. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time or come in early for dinner, as seating is limited. My husband and I are now loyal customers.
