Solo's Takeaway - Réservation de table

Solos has been a part of Skelmanthorpe since forever, and deserves its place on the main road. Me and my family have been ordering from here for over 2 decades either at the restaurant, over the phone or on JustEat. Everytime we have ordered it has been perfect in taste and spice level. The restaurant itself is beautiful in appearance and amazing in atmosphere. You do have to bring your own drinks and it is cash only. The service is impeccable. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. However, it's important to note that they do not accept credit cards. Unfortunately, we had trouble finding a cash machine nearby when it came time to pay the bill. Luckily, some members of our group were sober and able to drive to a cash point. There was a small notice indicating cash only, but none of us noticed it. Despite this inconvenience, we enjoyed our evening and would definitely return, but next time we'll remember to bring cash. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a dinner outing. Price per person ranged between £10–20.

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. We left feeling hungry and confused as they were unable to inform us that butter chicken was not available and instead gave us a greasy, dark red, and spicy alternative. The food was cold and the chips appeared overcooked. The butter on the naan bread was not even melted. Overall, the service, atmosphere, and food quality were all rated as a 1 out of 5. The price per person for dinner was £30–40.

Company Christmas meal here, food was fantastic, very reasonably prices, you have to take your own booze. Only gripe would have been getting pre-warned it is a cash only place, especially when you're paying for all 12 people, would have saved me running about trying to find a cash machine whilst it was lagging it down and everyone else was enjoying the beer. The curry was bland and lacked flavor, the prawns were overcooked and tough, and the other curry was equally disappointing. The onion bhajis were thin and not up to par. Will not be ordering from here again. Delivery service was slow. This meal cost around £20-£30 per person for dinner.
