Came here for Sunday lunch en route to Lockerbie train station. The food was really less than average. We both ordered the Sunday roast, which happened to be a roast beef, and what was advertised as ”a rich jus”. It was in fact, a thin, watery gravy which was tasteless and very unpleasant, and the slices of beef (three) were grey and equally tasteless. The Yorkshire pudding tasted unpleasantly of silicon, and we were both left with an unpleasant aftertaste.. The vegetables, however, were fresh, and nicely cooked. The service was perfunctory at best, and definitely not warm or welcoming. A smile would go along way… The bill was over £40. I’m afraid I would definitely not return here, nor woul...
