Family of 4 (teenage kids visited on a late July Friday evening, though we have also visited previously over the last 15 years while visiting the area on holiday. As with most Gasthaus' s in this part of the world the standards are pretty high. It's quite a large place, with large rooms for hire for conferencing or, on the evening we were there, for band/orchestra practice. It's also next to various sporting facilities and gets trade from people using these. Der Sonnenhof in Mauerstetten hat uns wieder mal einen sehr schönen, leckeren Abend beschert. Allen 4 Generationen am Tisch (von 2-84 Jahren) hat es ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Vom Kinderteller über die schwäbischen Geschichten (Foto) bis zum Schweinekrustenbraten...alles sehr, sehr lecker. Die Portionen sind groß und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis TOP. Die ausgesprochen nette Sana im Service ist sehr kinderfreundlich und zugewandt und hat uns bestens bewirtet. Das leckere Mövenpick Eis war eine super Nachspeise. Besser geht nicht. Gerne wieder.
Mehr von solchen Gastronomen bitte auch wenn nicht alles perfekt war, hier sind Menschen mit Herz und Leidenschaft am arbeiten und das durften wir als Gäste erleben. Ein gutes Stück Zwiebelrostbraten mit leckeren Käsespätzle und ein knuspriger Krustenbraten zu fairen Preisen. Leider etwas fest oder trocken (kann ich nicht gut genug beurteilen) das Fleisch, für unseren Geschmack. Durch den großen, freien Raum ist's vielleicht etwas lauter, wenn es voll wird.
Ein wirklich uriges Restaurant wie es kaum besser in einem Bayern-Reiseführer oder im Märchen beschreiben könnte. Es war wirklich wir ein Ausflug in eine andere Welt, richtig heimlich und richtig schön. Gutes Essen, super netter Service und super faire Preise. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung! Super food at a really fair price. The menu is beautifully designed and clear, both meat dishes and vegetarian is great and you have a very nice view of the fields outside. Unfortunately, the sonnenhof will soon be demolished:

The food is very good. The map is very diverse and good. Also outside on the terrace very nice.
Was for the first time in this place, am totally enthusiastic!!!! Can only be recommended.
