As per usual, valet parking only in the parking lot, typical K-town things. However, it did seem quite easy to find street parking as my entire party was able to find street parking instead of paying for valet. We got reservations and 11:30am and they had told us that they would only hold our table for 10 minutes. We got there exactly at 11:40am and was ignored for another 5 minutes before the server got to us. He gave us attitude for being late despite he was the one that failed to give us his attention.... Aside from the poor experience in getting seated, everything else was great. We ordered the combo B and added an order of beef tongue, and it was perfect for 6 people. Lots of different...
The food was terrible, the service was atrocious. It was overpriced for what it offered, and the atmosphere was lacking. When we finished our meal, the waiter brought us the bill, but we were not satisfied with the portion sizes and quality of the food. Despite ordering the "plan C," the main dish was disappointingly small. The waiter even followed us to the door, insisting that we leave a tip, which made us feel uncomfortable. We left a small tip, but the waiter seemed displeased. It was a bad experience overall. I believe that tipping should be based on satisfaction, not obligation. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant and saving both your money and time.
The restaurant offers high-quality meats, attentive service, and a great variety of freshly made banchan. Valet parking is available for $4. I visited for lunch on a Saturday at 12:45pm and the restaurant was full, but we only had to wait about 5 minutes. We ordered kalbi, pork jowl, and bulgogi with lettuce for wrapping as a $7 add-on. We also tried the seafood pancake, which was crispy and delicious. The staff even gave us a complimentary soybean paste stew. Overall, the service and food were fantastic and I will definitely be returning. Valet parking is $4.
The side dishes are always neat and delicious, and it's worth noting that they do not use plastic at all. Due to the grilling, the odor may stick to your clothing but it's not too overpowering. I had a small incident during my visit, but the female manager handled it smoothly, for which I am grateful. I will definitely be returning with my loved ones.
I'm a white boy who married a first born Korean American. Halmeoni is Korean for my wife's mom, a grandmother. She's shown me countless ways to embrace a culture and their food traditions. Soowon get's everything right!! YAY to banchan. Soowon is a winner!!! If it's hot outside, order their Naengmyeon Otherwise, Soowon is tops for K-BBQ
