Sophie's Serendipity

We weren't sure what to expect, but we decided to give it a try after reading several positive reviews. We were so glad we did. It's hard to imagine having a better experience. Many restaurants claim to be farm to table, but Sophie's Serendipity takes it to another level. All of the food served at Sophie's is sourced from their very own farm. The owner, Mark, takes a lot of pride in his cooking and it shows. We went with a group of 11 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I’m surprised to see all the high ratings for this restaurant because our experience was subpar. We ordered a meal that included sides, but none were available, even though we were charged full price for a seafood dish. The shrimp cocktail arrived hot, which was unexpected, as it’s typically served cold. It seems like it had been microwaved, which could potentially lead to foodborne illness. Additionally, the salad we received was mostly made up of tough white lettuce. The soda we ordered also tasted a bit flat. On a positive note, the wine was excellent. The restaurant is situated in the basement of a structure that used to be a farm building. While the musty smell isn't necessarily an issue, the open back door lacks a screen, allowing various insects to come inside. The food was decent, but it unfortunately didn't compensate for the overall atmosphere or the farm-to-table experience.

Food good. We tried ordering appetizers or starters they were out of everything.Burgers very good, country potatoes very good, lam chops excellent, shrimp alfredo good, fries and cheese steak not as good. I prefer shaved steak over steak chunks on cheese steak. Salads very good.Very reasonable will go again Réservez une table maintenant

The food was amazing, fresh and the price was perfect. The owner and his staff were so friendly and checked on us all night. Over the top amazing customer service. He even took our kids to check out the pigs on the farm. We will 100% go back on our next trip. I can't recommend this spot enough!

We had an amazing evening filled with delicious pork chops and a fantastic sausage sandwich. The music and atmosphere were wonderful, and we even took a tour of the farm. This will definitely become an annual tradition during our visits to the Alpine Resort!

Low-key, very relaxed. The steak was a little overdone and spiced up. The frog legs were surprisingly good. Everything tasted fresh.I would definitely come back. I recommend ordering the steak bites which a friend had and were great.

Service was great and friendly. Food was not good at all. And 18 dollars for lunch is ok if the food would have been good. Beans under cooked and steak bits were tuff as boot
