The WORST experience ordering kids birthday cakes. I walked into the St. Pete store on a Friday inquiring about making birthday cakes for my twins. The lady there was very helpful but explained that they were booked but she said she could call their Dunedin store to see if they had room but told me they were down a baker so she wasn't sure. Ariana in the Dunedin store told her yes they had space to make the cakes, I could hear this because the lady had the call on speaker phone and she told me to call the Dunedin store right away so someone didn't take the spot. Southern Bay Bakery has become one of my favorite bakeries ... and there are a lot in my area. Let's talk about the space. The bakery is super inviting. They have this little nook to the left of the bakery that you can sit in and enjoy your baked goods. It reminds me of Alice and Wonderland for some reason. It is adorable. It would be a nice place to meet up with friends. There are plenty of regular seats too. It seems like most people (myself included typically grab things to go. The baked goods. I visited this café for the first time today after a session at Stretch Zone, and I was impressed by its lovely decor. I had high hopes for their baked goods. However, I can only give it two stars due to the quality of the item I chose. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, which was quite overpriced at nearly $9, so I expected something exceptional. Unfortunately, it turned out to be soggy. I had asked for the type of cheese, and they told me it was Swiss, which sounded great, but when I took a bite, I discovered there was also cream cheese mixed in. Loved Southern Bay Bakery in Dunedin. They also have one in St. Pete. I loved everything about this bakery down to all the detail they put in to this spot. We ordered a chocolate mousse cake and a key lime bar. Not realizing it, but eating them together was like eating a chocolate covered key lime pie so that was a great fusion. They also have cookies, cupcakes, and croissants, as well as coffee. They have a nice inviting seating area inside and outside tables with shade if you prefer that. The guy working was very nice and welcoming and helpful as well. I would definitely come back to try their other beautiful options.
I could not believe how much this place exceeded our expectations (and the expectations were already quite high! I threw a bee baby shower. they asked me to show them some pinterest pictures for inspiration and boy delivered them! everyone has swept around the cake and cupcakes. the design was absolutely stunning and they helped us choose the aromen to add the themes: chocolate alternately with lemon layers with butter honey cream. each dessert plate was clean. will be 100% back with them.
The team at SBB in Dunedin is delightful to work with. We hired them for our wedding cake and dessert table, and it was so easy to work with them. When I called, they immediately spoke to me at length about their menu and their cakes. The cake tasting was great, and they even did us a huge solid by delivering on their day off. Also, highly recommend the vanilla and chocolate cakes with coffee buttercream frosting it is to die for. We had many of our guests rave about the desserts!!
We visited on Sunday and got a box of a dozen mini cupcakes to take home. The service was prompt and very friendly! Each cupcake was one-of-a-kind and incredibly delicious! We're so thrilled to have discovered this bakery!

The cake was fantastic! It was prepared on time, exactly as we requested, and delicious. Everyone at the party enjoyed it. The scones were excellent as well. I can't wait to visit again. It's a lovely place in Dunedin!
I think this place is very cute and close to home I have tried it a few times but... Very disappointing the bakery items are way over priced and they were dry and stale and nothing to write home about!
