Just had my first experience today at Southern Belle and it blew my expectations out of the water. I tried the Sausage and Chicken Gumbo, Crayfish and Spinich appetizer, lots of beignets (yes they're really as good as the one's you get at Cafe du Monde a restaurant famous specifically for beignets). My fiancé had the Belle Po'boy and it was superb; everything that we had was absolutely phenomenal. The owner Joel was very knowledgeable in his craft, and very welcoming and helpful and kind beyond measure. Drove from south Topeka to check this gem out after a coworker raved about it! Might I say it’s Definitely worth the 15/20 min countryside drive to make this your new family favorite spot! Owner and his son were amazing people!! Very clean environment, Food made fresh and in house and you can definitely tell he puts his heart and soul into his food!! The cook/owner has that voodoo magic for sure!! And you definitely get your money’s worth! Nice courtyard dining option, very New Orleans vibe!! Only better!!! I’m so sorry to see such a great wonderful restaurant to be ending in such a way. Southern Belle Creole family is so sweet kind and best of all have put their hearts into the food. For a community not to support this is outrageous to me. They have tried so hard to help their community as well, just to have backs turned on them. Shame on Burlingame to do this.
The restaurant offers a great variety of Cajun and American cuisine. The food was delicious. Despite being slightly out of the way, it is definitely worth the trip. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is ADA accessible with clean public restrooms. The staff is friendly. I will definitely return.

Food us great, made to order generous. Service is a little slow but that gives you time to enjoy your companions.
Appetisers were great. Good flavors in the Gumbo and crawfish etouffee. Presentation of the food was very nice.
Very nice place and very nice folks. Good eats nice atmosphere. I recommend it. Very authentic southern food!!
