What a pleasure it is to write a few words of my deep appreciation of excellence always demonstrated by the head and staff of the Spain Inn located in Piscataway N.J. The restaurant has long been a family favorite for its unique menu, particularly specializing in the finest of the culinary arts.A few years back, as a pastor, college professor and world traveler, my wife and I had the charge of preparing for the 100th Birthday Celebration of Mrs. Annie Grayer of Plainfield, More than two hundred graced the Piscataway Spain Inn dining room facility where the food was not only plentiful to everyone who attended, but was received with the warmest expression coming from the entire Spain Inn staff...

We’ll be back!Location: stand alone building in a residential area of Piscataway. Easy to find!Parking: large parking lot, should be ok unless they have an event happening.Food: we are very pleased with all our dishes. They give very generous portions. I really enjoyed their fried calamari. It’s not oily, and crispy. Perfectly paired with their light marinara sauce. My dish, the pork chop in garlic sauce was delicious! Moist and flavorful. The red snapper was cooked well, with crispy skin and airy meat. All you need is some lemon! My only complaint would be the sides. Not much choices to choose from. You get string beans, potato chips and rice.Service: super attentive servers and explained t...
It seems like the restaurant may have changed chefs, or perhaps the quality of the food has significantly declined. I was very disappointed with what I received. I ordered the garlic soup, and it was mostly just oil. I'm not sure if that's how it's meant to be served, but I thought I could at least use it as a dip, yet it was too bland for that. I also tried the Mascarda, and it was similarly flavorless. The seafood tasted old, the portions were much smaller than before given the high prices, and the sauce was tasteless with just a hint of burnt flavor. I also sampled the pork chops, which were incredibly dry and tough.
Bar tender called me a Irish fairy he didn 't know the menu, I asked what shellfish were in the dish he said I don 't know . I had to place my order at the bar which was full of drunks. Considering I don 't drink though. Don 't go on Tuesday. The dirty lobster was garnished. I 'm a prescatarian and eating fake crab meat is like eating an impossible burger. I added my own side to it because lobster and chips just doesn 't feel right. Réservez une table maintenant
The steak was lackluster and lacked flavor, even though it was cooked adequately. The paella was particularly disappointing; it was tasteless, and the seafood was mushy and overcooked. This was especially disheartening since I had specifically come for the paella. In total, I spent nearly $100 for a meal that was not worth it. I am thoroughly upset and will not be returning!
First time, went to celebrate son's graduation. My shrimps were pretty good, but my one of my son's chicken was not fully cooked, of course my son didn't say anything until we got home if not I would have brought it to their attention so I can't say anything wrong about that, just an FYI. Sorry didn't take any photos. Service was greatFood: 3/5
I ordered the seafood salad as an appetizer, which was refreshing and perfect for a summer meal. The complimentary bread had a nice texture that I really enjoyed. The Mariscada Salsa Verde featured plenty of small shrimp and tiny scallops, but it was just average in taste. For the entree, I had the T-bone, which was a generous portion.
We had a wonderful dinner with their amazing sangria. Lived here 20 years ago and visited from St. Augustine FL and thethe food and service is just as great as I remember as a kid. 100% recommendFood: 5/5 Réservez une table maintenant
The food was exceptional, with generous portion sizes and attentive wait staff, all set in a pleasant atmosphere. The Paella was particularly delightful. I will definitely return! Food: 5/5
