After my last review in February, my wife and I decided to try this restaurant again in April just to see how it was. It was decent, but nothing special. However, we decided to give it another chance in mid to late May and I'm pleased to say that it was back to its excellent quality that we had enjoyed when we first started dining there a few years ago. Both the onion and lime pickle chutneys were fresh and delicious, the poppadoms were incredibly crisp, and both my wife's chicken Balti and my vegetable Pathia were absolutely delicious with their unique flavors. However, I have noticed a decline in the quality of the food over the last few months. Every curry I have ordered recently tastes very similar, with no distinct flavors that make each dish unique. Even the spicier dishes lack any noticeable heat. The garlic naans also lack the garlic flavor they used to have. It seems like the restaurant may have lost its regular chefs or cooks, as the once excellent takeaway has been on a downward slide. Sadly, after my last disappointing experience, I have decided to stop ordering from the Spice Jar. It's a real shame, as we used to recommend it to others in our area, but it has now fallen off our radar.
My girlfriend and I live in Droylsden and occasionally treat ourselves to food from Spice Jar. The food is consistently delicious, with a wide variety of dishes and sides to choose from, all at a reasonable price. The delivery usually takes about 45 minutes, but it's worth the wait for such tasty food. We always stick with Spice Jar because we've never been disappointed with a meal from them. It's best to stick with what you know is good.
We were on the Aston canal and stopped here for the night. It was late and we found Bombay Spice. There were 6 of us and the restaurant made room for us. The food was very good and the staff made our stay enjoyable. I would eat here again Réservez une table maintenant
