The correct name for this establishment is Spice Rack Lounge, not Honeypot Spice Rack, which is located on Honeypot Lane. Now, my review is specifically for the Spice Rack Lounge (Honeypot Lane has more of an old-fashioned Indian pub vibe, but the food there is also excellent). This place serves Indian cuisine and has outstanding starters, while the main dishes are quite good as well. Many guests tend to focus mainly on the starters. Spice Rack is a restaurant/bar boasting a nice bar and a large variety of Inidan food. It has a brilliant family atmosphere and would make for a fantastic night out, or an ideal venue for parties and gatherings. The food was flawless in taste and the portions were generous to say the least however the food isn't perhaps for the complete curry novice. Both vegetarians and non vegetarian have a huge menu to select from with everything being reasonbably priced. Phenomenal food, fantastic warm atmosphere, and a thoroughly enjoyable experience mean that you should definately visit spice rack.
Went here last Friday (4/9/09) very poor service. Starters and Mains came out at the same time. Some people did not get served until they paid for their meal. Then the waiter asked everone for money whilst people were eating. Very slow to get drinks and music was much too loud to speak to the person next to you let anlone anyone else. It was more than a night club than a restuarant. Please think twice before going.
I was asked for ID to verify that I was over 18, which I found quite offensive as I'm actually 29. The food was disappointing—cold and not very tasty. Additionally, my drink was only half full! I'm typically hard to please when it comes to food, but given the high prices, I expected much better service and quality.
