I've been to Spit Shack 3 times for takeaway with colleagues, twice for bacon and egg rolls, and once for a pork roll. The first time for a b/e roll I was impressed, it was great value with garlic sauce, 3 eggs and a generous amount of bacon. The 2nd time I ordered a pork roll for lunch, and left disappointed. Whilst service was friendly, the roll was very plain...... I paid extra for coleslaw and onions, but when I unwrapped the roll these were missing, and they'd also forgotten to add my requested sauce... despite the sauce and add-ons being ticked on the wrapper. Very disappointing.Despite this I returned a few weeks later for another B/E roll, and had my worst experience yet..... whilst...
I went here for lunch with a colleague, after getting a glowing review of this place from another colleague! The spit shack is located close to the airport, in the middle of a row of nurseries. They claim to spit-roast the meat onsite and use local produce, including bread from a local baker.
The ambience is very relaxing, customer service is good. Now for the food: you can choose between spit-roasted pork or lamb, with fresh bread and an array of extras (coleslaw, pickles, crackling etc.) and sauces (mint, chilli, ajvar etc.)
I found the meat (lamb) to be on the dry side and would have liked a bit more sauce. I will be back to try the pork.
I had the pork roll with gravy and applesauce. It was delish! They use good quality ingredients and are not stingy with the filling, except for the applesauce, there could have been a bit more of that. The pork was roasted well and they cut it up nice and chunky. Yummy food at a great price, and you get plenty of it! I am looking forward to my next visit.
Didn't go to this one, went to the food trucks in Braddon but apparently the same. Great good. Had a spit stack, lamb and pork combo with gravy and mint sauce chips and coleslaw and it was fabulous. Did us for lunch and dinner! Great value. Fresh. Worth a visit to any of the places.

Have been to this haven of meat on a number of occasions and each time it has been worth the trek. They do a good egg and bacon roll and great roast pork or lamb rolls for lunch.
went here for lunch and had an amazing foot long with all the trimmings - so tasty - also got some seasoned fry's - so much better than the bland subway with the uneatable bread
They don't have a large menu here but what they do, they do well. Go there on an empty stomach as their rolls are huge. Their coffee is very nice too.
Excellent roast pork roll with garlic and chilli sauce. Massive roll, good value at $13....
Staff were friendly and very fast service......

Got the footlong pork roll with crackling and cheese !!! WOWEE it was amazing The price is mid range with a drink its about 20 bucks
Great serves of freshly carved roast meats on freshly toasted baguettes. Be warned - a 12 inch roll is tough get through.
