We stopped by for dinner based on the reviews and options on the menu. The hostess was very nicevand sat us at the table very quickly. The restaurant looked to be well managed and clean. We started the meal off with an order of Buffalo Chicken Wings. The three of us thought the order would come with 10 12 given the $11 price point.......instead you get seven. The wings were nicely flavored but unfortunately a bit on the softer side...could have benefitted. For the main course we ordered Pasta Bolognese, Mean woman Pasta, an Chicken Fried Steak. We were on a road trip in Montana and needed some lunch. Several places that had been recommended to us were closed. We asked a local where a good lunch spot was and were told Sportsman Lodge was a good choice. At first glance, it appeared to be a small diner type restaurant and made me think of a movie (can't remember what the name is though, lol). The interior was quaint and the decor matched the area. Great clam chowder, really good salad greens with berries and watermelon vinegarette, amazing carne nachos enough for 4 people for sure. I asked for my buffalo burger to be cooked Mid rare and it was solidly well done. They would have recooked it, but I told the server we didn't want to make a stink about it. (My wife hates it when I complain about the food or service! Our server was hustling and really personable but just couldn't seem to keep our waters full despite asking several times. Can't get 4 stars if you don't fill the waters. Some good stuff happening, but not great all the way around.
This review is of the restaurant only. I liked to stop by this place every 6 months or so when I travel to Ennis. Prices and food was reasonable in the past. It appears in the last several months they changed the menu, and literally jacked up the prices. $22 for a vegetarian pesto pasta dish? $15+ for a burger? $15 for fish and chips with 3 small pieces of over-fried fish? I understand inflation pressures, but really 30-40% more than 6 months ago? Cannot recommend at this point. Maybe in the future they will come to their senses. Réservez une table maintenant
Went to the bar casino after restaurant hours and had buffalo chicken pizza which was good for a bar pizza. Drinks were really good and service was excellent they kept your glass full at all times. And, I walked out with an extra $400 in my pocket! Not a bad night for passing through. Visited on Aug 29, 2022 on the way to Grand Tetons, Flathead Lake GNP.
I booked this location for lodging for a week. I walked into my room and it was very very small and had an unpleasant odor. I had to duck to go into the shower. It was dark and a lot of truck noise. I checked out and went somewhere else. To their credit they handled the refund professionally. The food was pretty good and I went back several times.
Delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere! I dined here during my last trip to Montana and will definitely return. The rooms are small but clean, all located on the ground floor and conveniently close to everything in town. Overall, I’d rate the rooms a 5, service a 5, and location a 5. This hotel is a great value!
One of the few food establishments around where you can still sit down and trade a $20 bill for a decent burger. My burger was a bit over cooked but fries were great. They seemed a bit short handed but service was still friendly. Its my usual spot to watch football during the season. Réservez une table maintenant
