Spotted Horse (the)

We're there on Saturday night. You don't have a parking lot, but there seems to be a lot of public parking. They still have restaurants in the indoor and outdoor areas. We had a big party, but fortunately we sat very fast. However, the rest of the service was delayed. Eating with children is hard, but if they're hungry, it's so much harder. We ordered the Mac and cheese and pizza with flat bread for the children. The Mac and the cheese were untouched, but they enjoyed the pizza. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Had to jump on the wait lost for a busy Saturday afternoon. Was seated and Constance was our waitress. She has such a great personality, and good energy. When she came up to the table it was almost like we were her girlfriends having dinner at her place. We ordered the sangria which she mentioned that she makes with a peach purée and it was excellent! We ordered the Mediterranean salad with shrimp which was so good! The variety in the salad is what I love to see on my plate. My daughter Pam and I wanted to try a new restaurant in Westport as I’ve eaten in a few there but never at the Spotted Horse! It sure was a surprise as the food was really delicious ! I had the best Chicken Caprese sandwich ! I love ice tea and that also was wonderful ! Pam ordered a cheeseburger which she ate the whole thing because it was too good to leave behind ! We also had the most wonderful and friendly waitress called Ana ! I would highly recommend this restaurant because I’ve been eating in a lot of them and can judge a good one just by the food ! First time here and I have no complaints. We sat in the bar and the bartender came to our table promptly and took our orders. Food came out after a normal wait and was plated nicely. I had the Braised Short Ribs over cauliflower mash and thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't too heavy but do wish it had a little emote veggies. The taste was spot on. Only complaint was from my friends who ordered double cocktails and felt the alcohol was lacking. Other than that we had a great time and food was good. Food is wonderful, but the service is not existent. We were here early and there were only about 4 tables. The waiter never came back to our table after he delivered our food. We had to go to the bar to get more wine. The bartender, Steve was great!
