One of the best meals I've had in a long time. We jumped on the waitlist for a busy Saturday afternoon and were soon seated. Constance was our waitress, and her wonderful personality and positive energy made us feel like we were friends having dinner at her home. We started with the sangria, which she told us is made with peach purée—absolutely delicious! For our meal, we had the Mediterranean salad with shrimp, which was fantastic. I loved the variety of ingredients on the plate. We also tried the spaghetti squash pasta, bursting with rich flavor; it didn’t even need traditional pasta or protein. The fried calamari was another highlight—generous in size and served with three different sauce...
This was my first visit to Spotted Horse Tavern, and I have no complaints. We sat at the bar, and the bartender promptly took our orders. The food arrived after a reasonable wait and was nicely presented. I had the Braised Short Ribs over cauliflower mash and really enjoyed it. The dish wasn’t too heavy, though I would have liked a bit more vegetables. The flavor was perfect. The only downside was that my friends who ordered double cocktails felt they lacked enough alcohol. Besides that, we had a great experience, and the food was delicious. I would definitely return without hesitation.
We have visited this restaurant twice now. The food and drinks have been great both times. We have sat in the indoor and the patio areas. The only drawback to the indoor area was the noise level. We were there when it's was packed, and it was hard to hear anyone who is not sitting right next to you. BTW, my hearing is very good in general, so it's not that.
I recently moved to Connecticut and have visited this restaurant multiple times. The atmosphere during the day and evening is fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the live music performed by a talented duo...

The bartender was extremely sarcastic and abrupt. When I requested a dirty martini, they cut me off before I could even finish saying the word.
