This place is exceptional and I would highly recommend anyone to reserve themselves a table and try the food and drink. There is a fabulous food choice on the menu and on the numerous occasions that I have visited, I have always thoroughly enjoyed my...meal. The Stapleton is decorated to a high standard adding to the ambience. Your greeted with a warm welcome and the staff remain professional and helpful even when the restaurant is busy. This place makes well for special occasions and is definitely a little gem of a find. I am not from the area but tell everyone about it as it is truly one of my favourite places for eating. I visit regular and never fail to book a table

my wife and I were here to celebrate her birthday. we had bed, breakfast and dinner and everything was excellent. a super room with a very large and comfortable bed and excellent bathroom with shower. the bar area was charming with friendly staff...and our meal in the restaurant was excellent and plentiful. the breakfast next morning was similar to many possibilities. good tea and coffee. they shouldn't be hungry here. an ideal place for hiking and cycling and seeing the sights of the city yorkshire. I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

Just had an overnight at The Stapylton Arms. I had read reviews for a for this small pub before COVID hit and kept it in mind for a try once conditions allowed. I have to say it was worth the wait. The rooms are a...little cramped but the food in the restaurant far outweighs this minor detail. The food was exceptional and all the staff are super efficient at their job and obviously enjoy their work. Although this was our first visit, it will not be the last. Thank you to all for a lovely experience. Réservez une table maintenant

Must have been an off night but we had a truly appalling meal, most of it not eaten. A meat and ale pie which was tasteless with dry and burnt pastry and the most washed out vegetables and a leg of duck which had been...microwaved to the point where it was almost pulp and the bones fell limply out. The chips were tired and hard. Altogether appalling I'm afraid and when we said so we were told I beg to disagree Just a warning in case people think it is always good.

As someone else has said, why write a review. Put simply, it’s excellent. It was our first time and the place was heaving but the service was still top notch slick and friendly. The food was first class and excellent value. We stayed overnight...and whilst the room was basic (it’s a pub for goodness sake) it was comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. An added bonus was a fantastic breakfast. Would definitely return.

we were thrilled that the stapleton arms could join us for a Saturday dinner in their sunny outdoor area. the menu is extensive, but we have decided from the daily specials: a large seafood salad for me and bubble of pork for my companion. everything. was right. After dinner we go to the extensive byland abbey that we could explore freely as twilight fell. an unforgettable evening.

we ate here a few years ago and were impressed, unfortunately our next visit was very windy recently. we had dinner on Sundays. the lamb was tasteless, I like my carrots al dente, but they were only cooked. with the exception of a dame was the...Staff robot and the atmosphere was nil. the place lives on the pastness call and sock are sock must be pulled up. let's go back _no. Amazing food as always. One of my favourite places to visit when visiting Mouseman which is 5 minutes away. Staff are always friendly and always attentive and helpful. Scampi and chips or prawn curry are my favourite. That’s if I don’t fill myself up on...the wash bread and olives first. Save yourself for dessert too. Yummy.
