When I called to inquire prior to my purchase, the man I spoke to was unfriendly. Food is terrible. Ordered 2 chicken dishes and 2 naan. Naan is loaded with sugar. Chicken dishes taste horrible and loaded with oil and full of onions. Even the next day I 've got a bad taste in my mouth. I 've only eaten one of the 2 chicken dishes. Didn 't photograph the dish I ate because it 's not something I do. I 'll photograph the second dish before I 'm about to eat it. The photos included at the moment show the remaining chicken dish and the lid of the dish I ate to show how greasy it is. Update. I ate the chicken jalfrezi which is meant to have peppers in it. It didn 't have any. There were sliced green chilli 's which I initially thought were peppers. Not very visible due to the thick cheap sauce. Instead it was choke full of onions. Should be obvious why they do this. Onions are dirt cheap. Peppers are expensive. This is clearly not OK. Selling food which is meant to have something in it and it doesn 't. I think they use Patak 's Indian sauce, then add other ingredients. No reputable Indian restaurant would use a pre-made sauce. They also use the outer layer of onions which is often too rubbery and tough to eat. And they slice them very big which is just laziness. Not much chicken in both dishes. Also LOADED with oil which you can see from the photos. You can see they 've used a lot of food colouring and too much turmeric. Your hands and nails go yellow. This is cheap garbage. And it isn 't cheap in cost for the customer. I would recommend doing research into the best Indian restaurants in Kent and London and visit those. Whitstable lost its only excellent Indian restaurant as its now permanently closed as the chef retired. Also this and Shobab both have 3 star food hygiene ratings as of 19 November 22 as I type this. Google search 'UK business food hygiene check ' and enter the name of the restaurant and area it 's in that you want to check. Ideally this place needs to be shut down and a new owner, with all new staff with a excellent chef needs to takeover, then this town will have a good Indian restaurant. As things stand, you 'll have to travel to eat at a excellent one.

We reached there by 1pm and the waiter told us it’s closed and chef is gone, so we were about to leave but this other guy(his brother apparently) came and told us we can sit and he will make us the item we asked for(biryani) This other customer with a dog came inside and the manager really talked disrespectfully and had an argument with him, and then he and his brother started shouting loudly inside the kitchen leaving us really uncomfortable so we had no choice just to leave there asap as it felt a bit dangerous as their fight was getting escalated. Would not recommend going there, and a strict no if you’re a dog owner.

Went in today at 1.45 for lunch was informed you had finished serving even though you state 2.30 closing time. I have been using this restaurant for many years as I am a local I have recommended you to several people over the years. The food is always good but I will not be coming back again as the two men I dealt with couldn't be bothered They didn't want to work. Shame as we were looking forward to an anniversary lunch

Nice food but… Horrible managers and Awful restaurant: I had to witness staff arguing at full volume during service. Had to wait a unbelievable 1 hour for my MAINS to arrive. Not surprised as I had low expectations at first. Was my first time visiting Whitstable and fortunately I will Never be coming back. Thanks
