Starpolskie's Deli

My husband and i have been going to this deli for about 5 yrs. We go there for the frozen homemade perogies. They are 'the' best. You get 50 in a bag for $19.99. We also get their Starpolska kielbasa, which is also awesome. We went today, a Tuesday, at lunch and there is a steady stream of people coming in for their freshly made mixed meat, cheese sandwiches. They have bags made up and people just come in and grab a bag for 3.99! Each bag has two sandwiches and a piece of kielbasa on the side. Freshest bread ever. Love the opportunity to visit this place when I'm in the neighbourhood. Although many will grab one of their sandwiches, I always go with two cabbage rolls and six perogis that come with sour cream. Normally the staff is great, today I ended up with a cranky one which is disappointing. Irregardless my meal was great and I was charged $9. for a plateful of delicious Polish Comfort Food. Hard to beat that kind of value. Although most of their business is takeout they do have a small area with tables and chairs. Go here! You will not be disappointed.

Near St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church at Sherman and Barton in the heart of 40,000 Polish people in Hamilton, is Starpolskie's Deli. We first noticed it when Hamilton Police and Firefighters were lining up to get their sandwiches are made 10 ahead during the rush hour. The food is great, prices very reasonable and the atmosphere is like you are in Poland. I have friends that come to town and insist on this place and parking is free across the street at the church. Try the double smoked kielbasa - it is to die for...

This little gem in Hamilton is nice to experience. Prior to noon the staff prepare a baggie of two sandwiches (mixed meat) with a slice of kiebasa thrown in the bag. Nice little very affordable grab and go lunch that is a must do at least once while in the Hammer. They also have a delicious hot counter where you can purchase delicious polish hamburgers, perigees etc. If you can, stay and shop for some groceries. Staropolskie Delikatesy is one of my favourite place to grab a bite to eat when I'm in Hamilton, I use to come here all the time when I lived in the city. I'm not sure how long the place has been around but it's been a while. There is always a great selection of food in the hot bins when I've come and it reminds me of my aunt's home cooking. Stop in here and check out some authentic European home cooking, you'll be glad you did.

This place is a Hamilton Institution that most would not know about. Went here with a friend for lunch, we ordered at the deli where I had two large cabbage rolls and six Pierogis with sour cream. They heated them up and we sat down at the tables in the corner of the deli. The food was fantastic, don't know where you can get this kind of great comfort food for a total of $9.00 per plate. It isn't fancy but it sure is tasty.

This very Polish deli has good foods for sale with a European flavor. Their sausages and meats are always good, homemade perogies and other Items you don't find many places. At lunch there are always Police, Fireman and other uniforms (follow the uniforms if you want good reasonable lunches) lined up for Great hot foods and a sandwich that challenges all appetites.

great selection of european meats & deli items, old school polish in this place. lunch counter selection excellent, bagged sandwich combos, chicken and veal cutlets, perogies to die for. at very cheap prices, food is delicious. a little confusing where to get in line ect but thats ok. So impressed with this place!!! Super tasty perogis and cabbage rolls. Deli sandwiches served up in white paper bags are out of this world! Customer service reminiscent of yesteryear. Definitely worth stopping by!

Great place for lunch. So delicious and large portions. Put your shoes on and go there. The pickles were yummo. If you go with your love make sure both of you have them...woooo stinky garlic breath.
