MICHELIN EXPERIENCE INDEED ... Came here with my family including our 12 yo twins... come early since the line builds early... just park at one and f the neighbouring Japan-town secure underground garage for a straight two or so block easy and busy trot to this restaurant... Much more of a festive ambiance and dining-beat with dim sum serving-like service sharing their freshly made appetizers and entrees... definitely NOT pushy and very well timed waitstaff offering their diverse menu AND DRINKS the entire fare. My heathen picky eater kids even enjoyed such... not just the tasty peanut butter desert...which they ordered several for the entire table. What was a fabulous touch to the dining ex...

State Bird Provisions in San Francisco is a dining gem that left me absolutely impressed. This place is a must visit for food enthusiasts and anyone looking for a memorable culinary experience. The food is served in small portions, and it's fun to share and try a bit of everything. The State Bird with Provisions is a must try it's super crispy and tasty. They have a cart with different bites, and it's cool to pick what you like. Some dishes were hits, some were so so, but overall, we left with full bellies and happy taste buds. The service at State Bird Provisions is top notch. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, and they're more than happy to guide you through the menu and answer any...
Such a fun unique experience of dim sum style service. Everything was also very very good. They rotate their menu fairly frequently, so you have to keep an eye out for what is being served that night. The servers are also very helpful but based onhow the rotations of food come out, you could be left waiting. My suggestion as with any dim sum place is to be proactive inasking what is available and if there is anything specific you want. The highlight for me was the black cod collar. This wasthe best collar I have ever had. I spent just over 100$ and I?m a really big eater. Under 100$ pp is definitely reasonable ifnot getting drinks. Would definitely come back again.
The seasonal menu at this restaurant is always incredible. They make such good use of their ingredients and the dim sum style service of all their small plates is possibly my favorite way to eat. I love being able to see and smell the food before Ichoose to eat it. The staff is also super accommodating, especially their host Megan. My favorite thing to do is to get 9pmreservations on a random weekday at the counter so I can watch all of the food being prepared also. It is overall a lively, fun,and really engaging food experience, plus all of their dishes are reasonably priced for the super high quality. The picturesused are from their fall menu. A curated dining experience from start to finish. I came here for a birthday celebration and they picked the perfect table, with exquisite service from start to finish. The start bird, quail, definitely stood out as the showstopper of the meal (breaded, seasoned, and fried to perfection). Although not all the dishes had flavors that I thought worked, the sheer variety of flavorswere a sight to behold. Other honorary mentions: sauerkraut toast, pork belly, and the smoked ham toast. For someone who wantsto try many different flavors from a melting pot of cuisines and appreciates an exquisite level of service, this is the perfectrestaurant for you.
A meal, and also an experience. On top of a small curated menu, servers would bring dishes dim-sum style all throughout our meal. We did not say no to any of them and tried every single dim-sum; it was really fun rating all of them and talking aboutour takes. I personally liked the dim-sum dishes better than the dishes on the main menu. The dessert was also awesome ?definitely try the shot of milk and the ice cream sandwiches. We ended up spending exactly $100 per person (no alcohol and weleft absolutely stuffed. I would definitely recommend, and it's better if you come with 3 friends who are open to sharing food:
This was such a fun dinner! To be able to pick out your own dishes on the spot was a fun and interactive experience with my bf. I like how you don't really know what to expect, you just take them as they come. We walked in for a table for 2 on a week night and were pretty lucky to get a table under 30-40min. Reservations can be made online! Most of the dishes were asian-inspired, pretty tasty but a bit too salty for my palate. My favorite was the pomegranate crudo dish!
Food, ambiance, service, etc. everything is great, and I used to go there regularly and recommended it to everyone. But be aware that if you call them to cancel your reservation way ahead of time, they may end up not taking it into account in their system and charge you a $50/head cancellation fee and fight it with your bank if you file a claim, which is a shameful behavior and goes against their stated terms conditions upon booking. Amazing culinary experience all around. We ate dim sum-style from beginning to end because we didn?t want to miss out on any creations and skipped the main courses from the main straight to dessert. We were able to try almost everything and it was allamazing with each bite an explosion of flavors. Fun lively and modern dining room with open kitchen so you can watch theartistry. A must try.
