I went to this restaurant with a group of friends for brunch and we had no trouble getting seating around 1:00PM. Everyone ordered different dishes and all seemed to enjoy their meals. I decided to try the East End Breakfast Special, which came with cheesy grits, scrambled eggs, and a huge chicken cutlet. Unfortunately, they were out of biscuits, which may have been a good thing because I was already stuffed by the end of the meal. We were quickly seated when we arrived at the restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and took our order promptly. The food was classic diner fare, delicious and straightforward. However, I have to give a low rating due to the older gentleman at the front of the restaurant who was handling payments. As a non-local, I felt ignored as he seemed to only pay attention to the regular customers. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I had to stand up and wave my check in order to get his attention. The food is decent like any other diner. Prices are a little cheaper which is a plus. I sometimes get the breakfast deluxe which comes with eggs, ham, sausage, potatoes and toast. I do wish they have lower carb options though or at least charge less if you opt to not get potatoes and toast. This time, I got bacon and eggs on an English muffin and the total came out to be about $7 before tip which is pretty good. To me, diner food is diner food. Where certain ones stand out is the level of service they provide and this place is not bad but not amazing either. What a treasure this place is! Immediately upon stepping inside I was welcomed like an old friend despite never having visited before! The two gentlemen on staff at 6am were so friendly and warm, I felt right at home. My breakfast was great and the coffee was too! I loved seeing the workers greet all the regulars who were in their way to the train while I was enjoying dining in. What a wonderful cozy experience! I had time to kill while waiting for a friend at the hospital nearby and this was a great place for to spend it!! Food was fast and fresh. Perfectly cooked sunny-side up eggs! This place is great! We went after a visit to the DMV just as a pick-me-up just in case it was a hellish experience. We wanted a simple homey diner and this place hit the spot. Some diners try to be too fancy and the prices usually reflect that but Station Plaza does a good job balancing prices with traditional fare. There's just something about a good ole fashioned simple breakfast of eggs, home fries, pancakes, french toast, bacon and sausage that will set your day straight. We ordered three platters and it came out to be about $36 total. The server was very welcoming, polite and attentive. Overall, it's a great New York diner.
The service is terrible and the food is not good. I have tried this restaurant two more times. The first time, I walked out as no one served me after 20 minutes. The second time, I walked out because the waitress took my order but never put it in, wasting another 20 minutes. The problem is the extremely lazy wait staff. The owner just sits in front of the cash register all day without supervising the dining area. I used to spend about $100 a month there, but I will never return now. If they lose enough customers like me, their profits will surely go down. They simply do not care.
This is my favorite diner, hands down! I’ve been coming to this place for over 20 years. What started as a family tradition with my parents and siblings has now become a tradition for my family. The food is always cooked perfectly, the coffee is fresh at every pour, and the diner is lively and cozy. The staff takes great care of you and makes sure to check on you frequently. We come for breakfast pretty regularly and we’re never disappointed. Thank you for being such a staple in the community and in my lifetime!
I was in the area so decided to stop by Station Plaza for a quick bite! I ordered a hungry man breakfast wrap: two eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, cheese with home fries. Came out piping hot which was perfect. Staff was friendly. Their menu is definitely huge, so should accommodate to everyone's taste buds. Street parking only. Definitely a cool spot to check out if you need a bite!
