This isn't the Steak n Shake I grew up with. They have cheapened it down to substandard. There is no wait service at all. You have to place your own order on dirty touch screens when you enter. Drinks are also self serve. What is worse is the food. I ordered a Frisco Melt, one of my favorites, and it was horrible. It was dripping with sauce and the cheese wasn't even melted. Danger food safety!!!!Don't eat here they are serving old food and reheating it!!!!My boyfriend just went in there to get a burger and instead of making fresh burger they had old cooked burgers sitting on top of the grill on a spatula that they took and tried to reheat it to sever to customers for their burgers. When asked Jeremiah the manager what was going on and that he didn't want old reheated food to be served to him Jeremiah said that they were not going to make new fresh food and that he didn't care. I was not impressed. We went inside because we wanted to sit down, but every table in the dining area was dirty. I used some paper towels to wipe one down that was not to bad. It did not take long to get our food and the food was not bad. It did however take forever to get our shakes we were done with our meal by the time they were done. I was glad we ordered a water as well. I would love to say they were super busy in the drive thru or something but I saw quite a few employees just standing around. I most likely will not come by to this establishment.
The last thing I do before my quarantine. I stand with the world to stop, freeze, and end this catastrophic event. I venture out tonight for my birthday. Order a fantastic shake for me and my immediate family. Talk to some the employees. Super friendly, considering the pendng weeks. Restuarant is super clean. Steak and Shake got a facelift!! The restaurant is clean, efficient, and the food is great! You no longer have to wait over an hour for your food. The prices did go up but not insanely like other establishments. The manager on duty seems to care about the business, which makes all the difference. I got a really generous cup of cheese sauce for my fries, which is awesome!
Not crowded on this Sunday, probably worth one more star. My meal was totally to my liking. My friend's had one detail of the eggs: he always wishes that they'd cook them with slight juicy run effect to them. Pointed out it could be a regulation to ensure safe cooking but, was totally elated that a breakfast burger had been found at long last!
Kevin was running the drive thru and I have to say he is the most pleasant fast food worker I?ve ever encountered. He made the entire experience next level. He was cheerful and positive. During such trying times it was so nice to interact with someone so incredibly positive. Thank you for making our night Kevin.
Slowest service ever. Was there to pick up delivery and it took 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by anyone working there. They were busy and I understand that, but you should at least acknowledge your customers and say we will be with you shortly.

Good shake and burger. Dining room closed by COVID precautions, but there are benches outside.
The food is very good and fast. I recommend it with friends late at night. Great time.
