"During our holiday in Oberpfalz we returned to the Steinwaldhaus in Pfaben. In recent years we have spent some holidays here and remembered the good kitchen. The kitchen is still impeccable when we were the only guests today. Perhaps it was through the bad weather rain, snow and the icy wind from Bohemia. The film restaurant closed today. That's why we took place in the guest room. The menu also offers the well-known specialties of German, Bavarian and Oberpfälzer cuisine, where today we have fixed ourselves to seasonal offers. The greeting was friendly, and the service was friendly and attentive. Of course, we were asked several times if we were satisfied or would have a wish. We started today with an asparagus soup (3.30 euros). Made with a small asparagus insert, excellent in taste. My partner chose the appetizers of Bärlauch Panacotta with asparagus salad (6.40 euros). An extraordinary court! I had the asparagus with pork fillet (19.80 euros). Five asparagus with two small slices of pork fillet. The meat was tender, but not really saturating for this price. Surely we will return here if the weather is better and the rotating restaurant is in operation. The kitchen is worth it."
