The food and service were very good. Our wait staff was very attentive. The noise level was very loud and type of music playing did not fit the setting and ambiance. It was loud and really ruined the experience for us we were ages 21 to 65, even the youngest of us felt the music was awful. Management might want to rethink the music and loudness level. I would like to recommend Root to friends, but I don't know anyone who would enjoy the experience because of that one factor.
We visited early on a Sunday evening. It was pretty quiet, but the floor and decoration suggest the noise level would be higher when fully occupied. We ordered focacia appetizer, lamb ragu, bologna sandwich and apple cherry Michigan salad. Everything was well prepared. Fries were house cut. Leftover containers were recyclable.
The food was exsquite. I do not think I have had a better meal. The ribeye so delicous. The orchard salad is my favorite. I did not care for the greens, but I do not like greens. The food is so upscale, I cannot wonder why the workers wera jeans and flannel shirts. Their clothing is a total miss.
Root is one of our favorite restaurants. My husband and I have been coming here since they first opened. Sunday brunch is delightful! We have also had several family holiday meals here as well as just a weeknight dinner. Staff is courteous and quick. Réservez une table maintenant
