Here 's why: 1. When you enter the restaurant, there is a persistent grilled onion/burned smell. 2. It 's very dark, and not much airflow, so the smell remains very persistent. 3. We ordered the filet mignon which is served with their signature sizzling plate, fries, onions and mushrooms. So here is how the experience went at this steakhouse . Our food comes out. My husband orders the ribeye medium rare and it 's well done. The waitress takes it back, leaves my food, and 15 minutes later comes back with another steak. My husband cuts into that one and it 's purple inside and still cold. Now I am done eating and he has not eaten. The waitress takes it off the bill. We are leaving and ask the hostess to speak to a manager and told one is not there. I proceeded to call the next day and was told the manager would be in later that day. I called back that and they are still not there. I went there earlier this evening for a friends birthday dinner. This was my first time there. We both ordered New York Strip steaks. I do admit the steak was superbly cooked and was a nice size. A little pricey at $36 each. But delicious!! The only thing that turned me off was the steak fries on top of the steak!!! I would have preferred a separate bowl for them andhave the steak visible with a nice garnish. It was a little frustrating moving the fries off the steak and have them fall ontothe table. The steak was so filling I actually left half of the fries!! Was stuffed!!
Great local steak place with lots of history! Very unique, either the interior decoration, which we loved, and the way they made steak. Ribeye was good, but all steaks were too well done for medium rare order. The meat quality was not great. Overall visiting the place was a super fun experience!

Would not call this a steak house by any stretch of the word. You come here knowing your getting a steak at an un beatable price, and you get what you paid for. Great for family, friends, sports watching, and pre-gaming before a night on the town
We have been coming here for a very long time but unfortunately they are priced to high for a Steak and alot if frenchfries, River Palm white table cloth prices
For the price of the steak dinner (which was delicious), I was surprised that it was served with steak fries and about 3 mushrooms.
Great food great service....! What more can you ask for!!!! Been going their every now and then for 35 years!
