Although we’ve enjoyed Bourbon Steak multiple times and stayed at the JW Marriott, we had never experienced Stompin’ Grounds before. The food was incredible—my husband ordered the salmon bento box with garlic potatoes and carrots, while I enjoyed the special burger paired with delicious sweet potato fries. I've now had lunch at Stompin Grounds twice and was impressed by the quality of the dishes both times. On my first visit, I enjoyed the quinoa bowl with avocado, and on my second, I tried the shrimp and grits, while my colleague had the blackened salmon quinoa bowl (both pictured). They also offer a tempting salad bar during lunch, which I’m eager to try next time. The ingredients are fresh and top-quality—definitely a 10/10. The service was awful. We were one of two table in the restaurant. Each table had their own server. We were there for over 2 hours mostly waiting on our drinks and food. The waiter got our drink orders wrong. We had to find him when we needed anything. Then when it came time for the bills he kept getting it wrong and wouldn’t let us help him. We finally told the manager we would just pay the total bill instead of separating it-who knows if it was right. The food was really good but bc of the lack of service it’s not worth going back.
I ordered breakfast at Stompin Grounds at 9:50 am, but it took an entire hour to arrive. We had plans to eat quickly and then tour the museums, but I had to ask two different managers twice to check on our order before it finally showed up. Another customer mentioned they had waited an hour and a half the day before just for avocado toast. If you're in a hurry, I definitely don't recommend ordering from the menu or paying extra for the buffet here!

One of the dining options within the Marriott. I tried the pesto flatbread, but the real highlight was the parm fries with truffle oil. They were absolutely incredible—some of the lightest and most airy fries I've ever tasted.
We had a fantastic brunch at this restaurant. The coffee was the best we've had in Nashville. Rasha provided friendly and attentive service that exceeded our expectations. Thank you from New Zealand! ????????
A delightful breakfast. The service was amazing and the food was top notch. Located in the lobby of the JW.
We had the salmon and steak and it was wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive, thoughtful and kind.
