Came in this morning after we were too late for a .. rhymes with ‘heather swoon’ breakfast. Definitely the best mistake I have ever made being late for that particular breakfast. We didn’t know where to go, but a stones throw away, (excuse the pun) we came into this wonderful quaint little cafe. The two girls that were working were so efficient and welcoming as soon as we came in. Very COVID safe and clean too. Ordered the Eggs Royale, and was definitely not disappointed. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, with plenty of it and the salmon was fresh and plentiful. The cappuccinos we ordered, as a regular size were also so creamy and a lovely coffee indeed, very big too! Honestly cannot thin...
When on a long early drive from Northants to South Devon via the A303 I planned a breakfast stop at 'Stones Cafe ' on the High Street in Amesbury. A traditional British Cafe with friendly waitress service and a menu that delivers exceptional value. I went for the Extra Large Breakfast which allowed me to choose 10 items from the breakfast ingredient list, (fried, scrambled or poached eggs, black pudding, bacon, sausages, fried slice, hash browns, fried potatoes, baked beans, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes)...This comes with toast and all for a bargain £6.95 My son had 8 items for £6.00 and my wife went for the Small 3 item breakfast. Have wanted to visit for some time and we recently had an opportunity. We visited for breakfast and really enjoyed our visit. I had the 8 item Full English which was great and my wife had pancakes and maple syrup. Her only problem was she didn’t have much maple syrup as I think they were running short. Service was excellent and really friendly. Excellent value for money. We will visit again when the opportunity arises. We mentioned our visit to our daughter who lives in Amesbury and she then went the next day with her husband. She also thought the pancakes were excellent. All in all we would recommend visiting.
Ordered 2x Sunday roasts 1 large beef and 1 child's, they where beautiful the beef was cooked just right, and not chewy or horrible, the portions where huge and definitely filled our tummies. My little boy had the chicken and the seasoning on it was lovely. We also ordered the churros for dessert and they where nice. They came with different dipping sauces and I think we got 5/6 large ones. Very well priced, fast delivery and very friendly staff over the phone.
Visited again today. Its my go to cafe in the area. Lovely food, pleasant staff and friendly locals. Choice of 10 items for breakfast, including in my favourites..tinned tomatoes (fresh available) and crispy edge fried egg(again optional). Sunday lunch is available until 2pm or 7pm with delivery. I cannot fault this cafe in anyway. Parking close by. Stoneenge and walks within walking distance.
For many years o used to use the friar tuck across the road . Until I got real **** service and food one Sunday morning . I then had the pleasure to see that stones had opened over the road. So I decided to give it a try . And I was so pleased to find good food good service Clean and pleasant environment 100% reconend to anyone to use this cafe and no others nearby
Excellent breakfast and service. Went just as it opened at 8am following a dawn visit to Stonehenge. Friendly, helpful, polite and efficient service. All food well cooked and presented (we had salmon and scrambled eggs, as well as eggs benedict and a cooked breakfast). Tasty, hot and great value. Wish we could transport it to our hometown we'd be there every week.
Myself and my colleagues went here for breakfast and it was amazing, the amount you get for what you pay is awesome! The food was amazing, cooked to perfection and it can’t be faulted. They also do an awesome strawberry milkshake, so good that just the look of it persuaded others to buy them!
