after playing the south course last week, and being pleasantly surprised, decided to play the north course, and was very disappointed. I realize that with the amount of rain we've had this summer, every greenskeeper, and every superintendent who is facing a major challenge. Some of the greens on the north course showed signs of the weather conditions, but all the greens were ridiculously slow. Without a stimposter, I couldn't be sure what these greens were rolling but if I had to give it my best estimate, I would say a five. Every downhill putt had to be struck as if it was uphill, and every uphill putt required you using a driver. There were that slow. The fairways showed signs of having been cut, but not that day. some of the traps had sand, others had none. Most had rocks. For me, not a very memorable golf course. Will give it another shot when we return to Massachusetts next summer.
Awful! Avoid this course, you can thank me later. Played the south course on 10/1.. Never again!Tee boxes have very little grass, bunkers have hard sand that haven't been tended to in years. Hole#5 the green was aerated and covered in sand, totally unplayable. Ranger came by and asked what our hold up was and we replied, his grounds crew. As they were mowing and could care less about players, he did have words with them which was cool. Save your money play, Butternut instead.
The starter was curt and the golf card is uninformative with respect to overall layout, hazards, water, etc. Tee boxes are destroyed and fairways look like a regular backyard in terms of quality of cut. Lots of deadpan. The entrance sign, which is dented and nearly falling down, says it all. We should have turned around then. Spend your money elsewhere. $82, 9 holes for 2.
Played the North course on Sunday. I enjoyed the layout. Many good challenges, but fair.The condition of the tees. Fairways, and greens would indicate money is being used somewhere else. We were charged $85 with cart. $30 with cart would be a stretch , given its current condition!
