we three friends visited another friend who was near detmold to reha. before we wanted to stroll through detmold and eat together at lunchtime. that was not so easy! the pedestrian zone was rugged, the restaurants also, in three that we liked, was no more space to get. so to the next, “Strates Brauhaus” that we already liked from outside. the second oldest factory house was built in 1550 and is under the roof. 2016 waren wir zum ersten Mal bei unserem Detmold Besuch hier essen. Da es uns hier gut gefallen hatte, entschieden wir uns am 17.06.17 beim erneuten Stadtbesuch wieder hier- auf ein Bier und eine Kleinigkeit zu essen- einzukehren. wir fanden sofort Platz ,obwohl es sehr voll war. Unsere Bestellung konnten wir zügig aufgeben, es dauerte zwar eine Weile, bis das Bier gebracht wurde- aber in Anbetracht des vollen Hauses- war die Zeit noch angemessen. Zumal wir den Blick zum Tresen hatten und sehen konnten, wie geschäftig da alles von statten ging.Wir waren dennoch zufrieden und wurden sehr freundlich bedient, auch für die Beantwortung unsere Fragen wurde sich Zeit genommen ,trotz Hochbetrieb....
the environment was very nice in an old department store. we sat in the window in the evening, unfortunately there was a light broken so that you could not look so good in the menu. the food was very tasty and had all the possible specialties of the German kitchen and also locally as plucked and naturally roast beer. the caramel sauce was unfortunately cold in the imperial animal. price was ok; under 20€ you won't get away, but loosely fluffy under 30€. the service was a little too intrusive for my taste, but that can also have been my impression. Happy again!
Mit englischen Freunden zum Essen gegangen - 1 Stunde Wartezeit. Pickert war ok, Suppe zu salzig, Zandergericht (das teuerste) was kalt, wurde dann nochmal aufewaermt und laurwarm mit ausgetrocknetem ( anscheinend aus der Mikrowelle) Kartoffeln das zweite Mal serviert. Service nicht existierend, noch zum Zahlen hinterher gelaufen. Wegen des schlechten Fischgerichts und der Suppe gabs dann das Mineralwasser und den Saft gratis, aber keine Entschuldigung

the food was very good, the solid nothing that would have torn me from the stool now, but quite drinkable and by the choice for almost everyone. the service made a slightly annoyed arrogant impression but was attentive and has been inquiries several times. price performance also totally ok. If I'm back in detmold, I'll be happy to look in again.
eating, was rather disappointing. brauhauspfanne . the flesh apparently boiled and of poor quality. the bratkartoffels rather greasy than tasty. the service was very attentive and friendly. the beer used to be good. what is not that the drinking money does not work over the electrical reward.
Zum zweiten male war ich mit meiner Frau in Detmold und zum zweiten male in diesem Restaurant. Gezielt sind wir zum Essen hier her gegangen, die Atmosphäre, das Personal und das Essen sind einfach spitze. Sollte es uns wieder nach Detmold verschlagen sind wir auf jedem Fall wieder hier.
