We started with the buffalo chicken dip. Oh, so good and spicy. What I ordered was sooo delicious. I ordered the chicken and dumpling gnocchi. First of all, the gnocchi which is homemade was the best gnocchi I've ever tried. The brussel sprouts were soft and firm. The sauce had a little kick to it which I loved. You just know that this dish was homemade. I can't complain about the serving size either! It was huge, and I would say it was really 3 serving sizes (that's how many times it took to finish it lol). For dinner in The String Bean. What a great place to hang out for drinks and a snack or dinner with family and friends. I'd say the place has a great atmosphere. The design and decor were cool and covered. A must for everyone. We had our dinner on the terrace where they had beautiful lighting and cool music, what a vibe! No alcohol license, But the best beer and wine selection I have seen in every restaurant. It is better than the wine shops, lots of beer or wine you can buy and take home. The food here is excellent—consistently delicious and of high quality. I really appreciate the variety of meal options! While it might be a bit pricey for those looking for something less expensive (about $12-$15 for a sandwich), it's still reasonable. In the photos, you can see the Italian sandwich and the Chicken Salad Croissant, both of which were fantastic. The duck fat fries are amazing (though not pictured here). The food and atmosphere here truly shine, and both are excellent. However, the service and speed could use some improvement. We arrived for our 7:30 reservation and were seated right away, and the fire table outside was fantastic. The terrace and lighting created a beautiful ambiance. While the food took a while to arrive, we didn’t mind since we had starters and drinks to enjoy in the meantime. My only feedback would be that the server could have checked in more frequently for drink refills. Be prepared for a wait for the main courses and perhaps order something light to tide you over. Great dining experience here. The restaurant inside and outside was full for lunch on a Friday which was a good sign. I sat at the bar and enjoyed their eggplant fries as well as the chicken and dumplings. Portions were definitely very large for one person so I had to take some to go. Everything was extremely delicious and you could tell they made it with care. The staff was also very attentive and sweet and helpful.I didn’t know that part of the restaurant also had a butcher shop and a wine shop. I will definitely have to go back to peruse those aisles because most likely I will find things to purchase.
I had a wonderful experience at the String Bean! I was initially set on trying the Cowpig Burger, but when the server mentioned the specials, I was intrigued by the coffee-dry lamb dogs—and they did not disappoint! We also ordered the duck fat fries and the Boom Boom shrimp as appetizers, and both were fantastic. The portion sizes and flavors were superb, and we had a great time overall. Highly recommended!
