Although I've been passing through the area every now and then for many years, I hadn't heard of this restaurant. A friend who lives a few villages away took me there on Ascension Day. I have no idea whether the restaurant is open on other days or just on holidays, but the atmosphere was great. The entrance to the courtyard is somewhat inconspicuous at the end of the street, but when you walk through it you feel like you've gone back decades. An old chestnut tree dominates the square surrounded by beer tables and benches. You order at the drinks counter and your food (if you order something) can be picked up from the kitchen counter (window). Just like it used to be at day-trip restaurants....
