I recently visited a Subway location with my family. The young man working the register seemed to have no idea what he was doing. Our bill was $10 higher than usual compared to when we visit the Subway in Weyburn and order the same items. When I pointed this out to him and suggested he review the bill, he showed no interest in doing so. Upon quickly examining the bill, I noticed that they had tried to charge me for cookies with the kids' meals, even though they were out of apples and the cookies should have been included. During our business trip to Swift Current, my husband and I frequented a Subway located near our hotel. Unfortunately, I found that a majority of the time, around 75-85% of my visits, the staff seemed unwelcoming and even rude. Despite this, the food was good and there were a few employees who were friendly. However, after a particularly unpleasant encounter with a rude staff member, I have decided not to return to this location. I will instead take the time to drive to the downtown Subway and would recommend others do the same. If they do not want my business, I will not push it on them.
I'd rate this franchise as below average just because of the attitude of our server. He made us feel like it was a chore to serve us. The kicker came when he picked up a container of soup from the counter rather than draw a fresh one from the crock pot. We ate within five minutes and the soup was cold [I suspect mistakenly ordered by another patron earlier and passed off on us to keep profits up]. We passed the place by during the remainder of our stay because of this experience and it won't be one of our first choices should we travel through Swift Current again.
They only had white and brown bread. This is ridiculous since they were still open for another 3 hours. We went down town and they had every bread type. I have ate several times at the one Highway Subway and they are always rude and out of something and never say sorry. The downtown Subway will be the only one I will ever return to. The lady who helped me knew about contamination and she was very careful. She knew that the gluten free bun needed toasted. The issue was that it was not toasted nearly enough so then it’s like eating a crumbly piece of Cardboard. I’ve eaten here before and have had better luck. Next time I’ll make darn sure to tell them to toast it long enough.
