"Food was absolutely delicious. A bit on the salty side but still so good. I had the steak and my husband had the scallops. Both were cooked to perfection. The Inn was very quiet while we were there. Maybe just the time of the year. We would definitely go back."

We have had dinner at the Sugar Hill Inn several times. On Friday, July 26, we had dinner at 6 PM. We were seated immediately. We each chose to have a blackberry Margarita. We were happy with the taste of the drink, but it was served in a glass that was shaped with a very narrow bottom which made it difficult to empty the glass. In addition the drink had too much ice for the amount of liquor which made the volume small. We both had the four course dinner. We both had the mussels as an appetizer which were excellent with a very interesting tomato type sauce. It was served with a couple of flatbreads. A few more flatbreads and we could have enjoyed the sauce a bit more. The size of the appetiz...
My girlfriend and I had such a wonderful weekend getaway staying at the Sugar Hill Inn. The inn was so quaint and cozy and we loved our room (the Blue Room). We were particularly impressed with the friendly service and dining options at the inn's restaurant. Breakfast was so peaceful. We made dinner reservations for Saturday night, and the meal was delicious and memorable. The chef even prepared a vegan dish. We felt extremely well accommodated during our stay. The location and proximity to Franconia Notch and all the outdoor recreation that the area has to offer are hard to beat. We would absolutely recommend the Sugar Hill Inn for a romantic weekend and are already considering coming back...
The dining room at the Sugar Hill Inn is really described well on the website and in promotional material. The photos make the room look very elegant and the cuisine is defined as Fine Dining. It was OK and Hope our server was very nice, but the experience was far from fine dining, thought the prices were in keeping with higher quality products. I feel like the dining room is relying on past successes and accolades, but it is no longer up to that standard. We stayed at the Inn because the dining room and adjacent Tavern were promoted as a featured amenity. We were disappointed that the Inn did not meet what was described in the promotional material.
Beautiful little inn. Food is incredible. Staff is kind attentive. Grounds are pretty rustic. Amazing views. Beautiful town. Near lots of things to do. Nearby activities: Franconia, Bethlehem Littleton provide tons of shopping, restaurants, natural beauty. Swimming skiing hiking all nearby. Food drinks: The chef is one of those creative types with new exciting dishes every night based on the best local ingredients. Veggies poultry are raised on the premises. Very limited menu, but everything we tried was excellent. Really enjoyed the spicey lentil side dish as well as the scallops. Shrimp wrapped with bacon served with a spicey sauce were also very good. Desserts made in house were fantastic Service was great. Server, Hope, was super and Chef came to all tables at the end of the night. We were there on a very quiet night. The dining room is very small. On a busier evening, it might be too close for comfort for me.
The place is lovely and the service is very good. The hotel is warm, with lots of old time furniture and books to read. Coffee and tea of very good quality always available. The breakfast was good and served in a delicious room with antique tables, chairs and good taste details. But the room was small and not so comfortable. The road was near and the noise made our sleep not the best. Overall a lovely place but with some flaws.
Limited menu and at 6:30pm ran out of an appetizer that happened to be one of the few non meat choices. Server, Hope, made the experience delightful. Badly burned bread that should not have been served and no alternative. Two very good salads and a lamp chop app that was also very good. Perhaps an off night? Suggest not serving any bread if you've burned it. Great staff and lovely room! Overall, had a wonderful stay.
The atmosphere in the dining room was cozy and quiet. Our upholstered benches were shaggy which made them uncomfortable to sit on for 1.5 hrs. The food was creative and delicious. I had the roasted chicken on gnocchi which was outstanding ....it did have too much salt which wasn't necessary since the seasons and sauce were delicious on their own. Our waitress was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. Réservez une table maintenant
We had a dinner there as part of a team meeting. There were 5 of us. The food was unfortunately so salty that we couldn’t eat it. Our server was very nice, that did not make up for the over salting of every dinner and appetizer. So sad…we had great expectations. I should mention that the inn is beautiful.
