We have ordered takeaways multiple times from this establishment and on every occasion we have asked can they make dishes vegan? On every occasion and speaking to multiple members of staff, we have been told they can make anything vegan. Upon ordering tonight, our usual order, we were told they could not make this vegan due to using butter and cream There was no apology when we explained we had previously been told it was vegan and clearly lied to. The person on the phone tonight who seemed to be in charge even said that the previous people we spoke to 'must have lied ' and showed no concern about this. We thought we would treat ourselves, even though the prices have recently been increased. It took over an hour for our food to arrive. I ordered a chicken biryani as this is my favourite meal and I knew what to expect. However, the rice was really spicy which is unusual for this dish, but the worst part was that the chicken was full of gristle and inedible. I called and complained to the restaurant and they said the biryani would be free the next time we ordered a take away from them. Needless to say we will not be ordering from them again. Such a shame as the quality of food over the years has been consistently good.
We had not eaten in this place for a couple of years due to covid etc. But we went this week and things have dramatically changed. They do not sell alcohol anymore, there is no back ground music as there was. The room is shabby and threadbare. There is absolutely no atmosphere. The food was of poor standard and then to round it of the bill was given and I was extremely shocked at the total, very expensive. A very disappointing experience and one I would not recommend .
Food average. Went because of the meerkat offer they are clearly signed up too but then refused to acknowledge it. The excuse was 'we haven 't done that for over a year '....then how do I have a meerkat offer specifically for the Sultan!!?? Clearly false advertising from the Sultan. Didn 't even offer an apology or reduced bill as a good will gesture. Good job meerkat compensated us. Will never visit/eat from this restaurant again

We visited on the reopening night. The staff were very attentive and the food arrived quickly, was all cooked fresh well presented and was very tasty. The team explained that whilst they have no alcohol licence we were welcome to take our own if we wished. They had a good menu of soft drinks which was good enough for us. Good luck with the relaunch and hope to visit again soon.
terrible service.. they used to be good but no more now .. have ordered a delivery last week and food was terrible, cold and got it after almost 2 hours i’ve ordered it !! got overcharged 5 pounds extra, when i called in they said they made a mistake, that was last time for me, i wouldn’t recommend this place
A warm and friendly welcome was followed by very tasty meals. I cannot understand some of the negative comments for this restaurant; the staff and food (especially the lamb achari bhuna) deserve better recognition. We will definitely return.
My wife and her friends were very disappointed to discover on arrival that the restaurant did not have a licence to serve alcohol and did not allow customers own alcohol to be brought in. The food however was excellent.

I had a delivery tonight the food was not Edable at. Called to complain and they hang up on me. And refused a refund. Now they are not answering the calls to me. Would not use again avoid
While the service was very good unfortunately the food quality was very poor. Even the basic dishes were either overcooked or unrecognisable from normal Indian meals.
