My friend, who lives nearby, recommended Sunnybank as the new Chinatown of Brisbane with a variety of Asian food options. He specifically suggested Sunnybank Oriental for traditional Cantonese cuisine. It was my first time trying Cantonese food during my trip to Brisbane. The chicken rice clay pot was delicious and flavorful, although the serving size was quite generous. I would recommend sharing it with someone unless you have a big appetite. The salty calamari was fresh and tasty. The prices are reasonable and there is a wide selection of dishes to choose from. I just asked for reservation that the restaurant will not book. because our group was big, I thought I'd ask her if I could, but she hanged before I could. we came in the evening hoping that it was sitting. and fortunately there was. the courts we ordered came out after our order. the servings were decent and reminded us of home cooked dishes. we ordered five dishes among us (6 adults and 2 children) and it was more than enough. the employees were polite. very recommended for dinner.

This restaurant has a rather long menu. However their special dishes are the claypot rice for which they don't have any competition in Brisbane. This is the type of food which is very popular in Hong Kong. However my favorite dishes in this place are...Hainan Chicken Rice, Pipi with Blackbean or XO sauce. The Singaporean fried rice vermicelli is also the dish I regularly eat. In Winter the fish Congee is also very warming and economical.
Use to love dining at this restaurant and had always been a regular but lately the food has gone downhill dramatically. It has since been very salty and leaves your mouth feeling dry for a couple of days and does not taste the same. Service...is still good but the food has gone downhill. What’s happening?! Love their breakfast menu which goes from 7am to 11am. They come in set usually include a meal and a drink. Sometimes we ordered 3 sets to shared by 2adults and 2 young kids. Our kids love to go there, the staff welcome us in...a friendly and helpful manner every time we visited.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and was blown away by the delicious food and great value. I highly recommend trying the Laksa, it was amazing - big and incredibly flavorful. I will definitely be returning again and again.
