From humble beginnings, this restaurant has become a little gem of Mosman. Stunning food and they now have the service to match. They have just brought our an amazing range of sake as well. Very very impressed by the menu as well as the service. BYO is great together with a short stroll from home, our new local and we absolutely adore it 07 Oct, 2012 Great food. Amazingly bad service. What a find. We tried Jap'n Eat on a visit to Sydney last week and were delighted with the experience. The food was inventive, well presented and fresh. BYO is always an advantage if restaurants do not have the space or knowledge to provide an adequate variety of brands and options. Sake selection was very good and the staff gave us tastings prior to deciding on our preference. Sure the tables are a little close together but that added to the atmosphere. A most enjoyable experience.
Absolutely horrible..Ok let me just start by saying the emmense disappointment experienced at this restaurant.. The food is terrible and I eat Japanese a lot.. And live in mosman!!! (local restaurant) The service is appalling but not matched by the diagraceful food dished up. 1 hour to get edamame beans served, they were cold. The salt and pepper squid was cold and like carbord. Honestly avoid this place and save your money.. Regret ever going!!!
Yachiyo is a nice intimate Japanese restaurant with friendly staff. I went there to celebrate Father’s Day with my family and we enjoyed everything we ordered. We had the sashimi selection, miso grilled black cod, grilled salmon scampi hotpot. For dessert we tried both the Japanese melon mochi and the white chocolate rice puffs matcha. They have sake tasting as well. Make sure you make a reservation as they get very busy.

Expensive for what it is. Food was OK but not worth the money we spent. I wouldn't say it was kid friendly as nothing much on the menu plus no high chairs something you'd expect in Mosman! We spent $107 on just food for a family of 5 (2 of which didn't really eat anything).
This place is great! Delicious and very interesting food and very friendly service. Don't believe the other reviews. Did one of them actually complain about a $100 bill for 5 people?! They must be from Mosman!
Awful!!!!!!!!!. Horrible!!!! Everything was stone cold! Service was terrible! Food was terrible! I am one to be overly judgemental but that was horrible! Please do not go!!
We ordered takeaway and everything was absolutely divine. The spicy tuna roll, sashimi selection, and slow cooked wagyu were stand outs, and staff were super friendly!

Cannot recommend this place more highly! Best Japanese in mosman and entire lower north shore. Fresh, generous and delicious!
