Sushi Jin Next Door

So I've been back several times since 2009 and I just get more disappointed each time. The sushi isn't as good as it used to be. The quality isn't as good. The rolls are inconsistent. Sometimes the rice vs. fish ration is just right, while other times there is way too much rice. They've added more things to their menu since like ramen and new special rolls. They have a great vegetarian/vegan special roll menu. Most of their special rolls are spicy. Keep in mind, this is not authentic Japanese. This is a Korean establishment so they have a lot of great Korean inspired specialty rolls and dishes. The service is decent, again inconsistent though. Prices increased. But still reasonable. I have both ordered rolls for takeout and had some rolls for dine in dinner in the past and decided to stop in for a solo lunch. Not a large place but busy, especially with to-go orders. The bento box( pictured) came with plenty of food. Loved the tempura on the vegetables and prawns as it was not too much and unlike other location i did not need to peel half of it off. The vegetable dumplings were standard. Do note that they usually come fried but I requested to have them steamed. The icing on the cake was the bonus chicken and onion teriyaki skewer. that was my first experience in raming and I'm glad I picked this sushi jin. the appetizers were delicious, takoyaki and fireclams. I was trying to order another round of both, but knew I had to save space for the rams. I had the spicy jin ramen and my sister had the kimchi ramen. while my ram was not as spicy as I would have liked, the taste was great. Of course I couldn't go without trying the sushi. I loved the ikura, but was not a fan of tako sashimi, no mistake of the restaurant). in silver jump, the restaurant is small and sitting place is tight, but don't let them be derived from an amazing culinary experience. I can't wait to go back!

The service was extremely slow. They were too busy filling takeout orders to tend to the tables in the establishment. I waited over half an hour for my ramen, the table next to me waited over a full hour. Not once did anyone stop by my table to ask how the food was, refill my drink, or apologize for the long delay. When I did receive my ramen, it contained large chunks of overcooked, bland pork instead of the typical thinly shaved pork belly. One piece was particularly off-putting and full of tough connective tissue.

Highly recommended for those passing through the city looking for the perfect sit down quick sushi spot.Their food was delicious and somewhat filling. I had their edamame which was perfectly seasoned with all types of sesame oil and sesame seed types of deliciousness. I had a miso soup which was also delicious comfort type of soup along with a California roll sushi which was also delicious.
